Right. Like I said he doesn't even treat infectious diseases.

Glad you admit Trump is a liar who will not accept responsibility.

Wrong. Lots do. You are projecting your inability ant Trumps to admit when you are wrong onto others.

Doesn't change the fact that he was following Fauci's advice. Fauci even admitted himself that Trump had followed all their recommendations.

At least he's successfully gotten half his base to not wear masks!
Even Joesixpack strongly believes everyone should wear a mask. However I don’t ever recall him criticizing Trump, directly, for his anti mask antics. Might have just been an oversight by Joe, just like it was an oversight by the republicans mentioned in that article.

They are far more than simply blowhards. They profit from things like fear mongering, racial and sexist bigotry, and inciting violence. They are hard-right propaganda profiteers. Given the state of incarceration in the U.S., they should both at least be in prison.

He thought about a mild admonition, but he decided that would not fit with his trolling.

Ok thanks for the response. I want doctors to have many treatment options available to them in treating patients with COVID-19. I am perfectly willing to believe that hydroxychloroquine is effective with some patients depending on their symptoms. With others not so much. Amazing that this is even a political issue.

I know, right? It's almost like if the president hadn't waded in trying to sell it as a panacea, in the unscientific manner that he and Republicans are generally wont to do, the whole thing would have never even become politicised!

Wow, if only there were a way to know whether or not a drug were effective, and with what sorts of patients with what sorts of symptoms, without having to rely on blind faith!

That's a ridiculous way to look at it. 99% of people with Covid get better no matter what. Medicine is better than snake oil precisely because treatments are studied scientifically and efficacy must be shown, not assumed.

Trump followed their recommendations when to shut down and for how long. In other words he followed the experts advice and now he's getting blamed for it.

Quote:
"The first and only time that Dr. Birx and I went in and formally made a recommendation to the president to actually have a "shutdown" in the sense of strong mitigation, we discussed it. Obviously there would be concerns by some, and in fact, that might have some negative consequences. Nonetheless, the president listened to the recommendation. And went to the mitigation.
The next, second time that I went with Dr. Birx into the president and said 15 days are not enough. We need to go 30 days. Obviously, there were people who had a problem with that because of the potential secondary effects. Nonetheless, at that time the president went with the health recommendations, and we extended it another 30 days. So I can only tell you what I know and what my recommendations were. But clearly as happens all the time, there were interpretations of that response to a hypothetical question that I just thought it would be very nice for me to clarify."

From doctors who actually treat COVID-19 patients? Nope.

Amazing that people consider flexibility in patient-doctor communication and treatment an act of blind faith and using snake oil.

How many COVID-19 patients actually get treated with Hydroxychloroqine? I would guess very few do. But libs seem to have a real problem with this option being available. Are you all claiming there is a lot of doctors ripping off their patients? Let’s just say that I think that is in conspiracy land.

So what is the controversy about actually? TRUMP said something about it offering some hope and that he took it meaning his doctor prescribed it for him. So friggen what? Orange man bad!

You guys are sick.

I work in an ICU in Northern California as a RT. Our numbers have been low, but every patient that has come through our covid unit is getting hydroxychloroqine

Trump to sign executive order on social media moderation?

It seemed likely to be threadworthy, so I'm preemptively splitting it from this thread, and I transcribed part of the leaked draft in an OP. Linking here for visibility.

Nobody has a problem with it being available if it's safe and it works lmao. The issue is Trump touting an unproven drug that hasn't been properly vetted.

The medical community agrees with us. That's why they are collecting and analyzing data as the medical establishment is not content with your "well some times it works, sometimes it doesn't' idiocy, that would apply to prayer and every placebo under the sun.

If the president of the United States wants to promote a drug or type of drug for his citizens, the responsible thing to do is to get a panel of medical experts in front and draft a plan and a statement.

Then his citizens and others are spared the annoyance of figuring stuff out on their own, or treat the entire thing as some rabid tribal issue. Drugs are supposed to be medicine, not political statements.

Correct, because we know from extensive experience that someone can be given a placebo and still get better. One doctor treating a handful of patients in a non-blind fashion is likely to come to false conclusions about drug efficacy.

Why doesn't someone start a Covid thread, so we can use this one solely for Trump-bashing???

NO.

Trump is being blamed for selectively listening to anyone who agreed with his 'this is going away, ... 15 people to none' view while sidelining, threatening, ignoring and firing the myriad of experts in his administration that were sounding warning bells and trying to provide him a blue print on how to handle this threat while there was time to prevent so much death.

Trump failed. As leader you don't get to point at your staffers and say they failed but I did not. You don't get to say 'not my fault, man.'

^^^ and to the above Joe, again I remind you that you are arguing against Trump now.

Trump is not saying 'my admin screwed up. My advisers gave me the wrong info and i believed them and now we have a much bigger problem than we otherwise would have.'

Trump is saying 100,000 deaths is lucky and great management by him. PERFECT. He did everything right and everyone should thank him as it could be 1MM to 2.5 MM (10-25 times) the deaths right now if not for his leadership.

You need to get on the right page Joe.
