Also, it can't actually be god, because he doesn't exist. Sorry, kids So all we have to go on are depictions.

I'm not even taking the bait on your other post, lol. Feel free to post in my thread in RGT if you want to go down that road.
Please quote where the Bible says that God the Father has a beard.

While you're at it, please quote the Bible where it says that He is "in the sky."

Thanks.

Since it sometimes seems that Trump THINKS he's God, I guess talking about God in this thread is appropriate.

Ok you got me. A clean-shaven dude who's not in the sky created the world and everything in it in 7 days 5,000 years ago. It all makes much more sense now. The more I learn that all those renaissance artists lied to me in their paintings, the more I'm starting to buy in to the story.

Seems reasonable. Young people aren't special. The internet has not made us free.

6 days. On the seventh day he rested. You don't know anything about the bible. I am starting to question if you actually read it as often as you've led us to believe.

There is NO evidence that he's even read one CHAPTER in the Bible.

His understanding of Christianity seems to come from memes from atheist websites.

I appreciate your honesty in revealing the reason why you don't have a clue about what Christianity actually is.

d2_e4 posting about Christianity makes about as much sense as ME posting about quantum physics.

That is, NO sense whatsoever.

Love that Trump calls out Harvard for applying for covid19 relief and not red state schools like University of Texas that has just as much cash, if not more.

Makes you wonder why if he didn't want these rich organizations getting money he went ahead and signed the bill. I mean, surely he read it right?

Spoiler:
lol

christianity is another corrupt institution whos purpose is to accumulate wealth on the backs of the proles. with an added bit of sexual deviancy.

still, your christianity takes are better than your Covid and econ takes.

Regarding old v. young, the continuum of time and age, and want/ability/need to be openminded/critical of information and environment:

While it is indeed generally true that humans become more rigid in their patterns of thought and less flexible in dealing with complex situations as we age, the more reliable perspective of this topic is based on physical and cognitive development and activity.

Like physical exercise and its resulting benefits, exercising our brains in meaningful ways allows for more flexibility and ability to be critical of incoming information as well as our own predispositions and the place in which they all meet.

The correlation between advancing age and rigidity of thought is rendered meaningless if we always try to be creative: painting, fictional writing, playing music, learning a new language, a new instrument, as well as staying physically active.

Christianity is not an "institution", although many individual Christians and groups of Christians have created and impacted many institutions.

I distinguish between "Christianity" and 'Christiandom", the latter usually entailing the church insinuating itself into political institutions.

The Roman Catholic Church would be the most historically significant example of Christiandom. Another example would be the Church of England.

So, I AGREE with your take of the generally nefarious nature of Christiandom, but not of Christianity per se.

lol @ the idea that olds are more objective and discerning about their news.. the past election showed that olds believe literally everything they see on facebook. what a terrible ****ing take.

also a better approach for the god people would be how a 900 yr old dude magically built a giant boat and then mindcontrolled a bunch of animals onto it.

Crazy to think that Rush, Tucker, Hannity and the rest of the far right lunatics might be setting up Drumpf's eventual defeat later this year:

Study: Elderly Trump voters dying of coronavirus could cost him in November

An academic journal projects that deaths of 65-and-over Republican voters in several swing states will far exceed those of Democrats

Quote:
Academic researchers conclude that when considering nothing other than the tens of thousands of deaths projected from the virus, demographic shifts alone could be enough to swing crucial states to Joe Biden in the fall.
Quote:
Johnson and his colleagues Wendi Pollock and Beth M. Rauhaus projected that even with shelter-in-place orders remaining in effect, about 11,000 more Republicans than Democrats who are 65 and older could die before the election in both Michigan and North Carolina.
Bad decisions often have bad consequences. And having Drumpf and/or Fox News as your sole news source will cost many Trump party voters their lives.

Not that it stopped me doing it earlier in the Antifa thread anyway.
