No one but you guys is suggesting castration or anything like it. The story as presented is about a kid whose evil and craaaaaazy mother is forcing him to wear women's clothes. You were so ingrained to think of the female as the evil party (for some reason...) that you skipped right past what the actual question is (does the kid enjoy dressing up or is he being coerced) to some lurid fantasy about pedo hunting and keeping laser focus on this child's private parts (for some reason...). The reason they don't generally do reassignment on young children and never permanent is it's not something someone of that age can readily understand enough to consent to. Oh well. I guess this turn in the thread was inevitable. I can't believe that anyone is gullible enough to think that a significant percentage of liberal parents would be in favor of irreversible medical decisions for a seven-year old in this sort of situation.

It's really a simple answer. You should do what's in the best interest of the child, not based on what a child wants and feels. I'm don't think embracing transgenderism, at least prior to puberty, is healthy. I also don't think completely rejecting it, is healthy either. This seems like one of things where you tell the kids, that's something we can talk about when you are older..

Can I get a list of approved clothing for my kids? The older one was assigned female at birth, but she likes counting, playing with cars, and other boy things, so I'm worried about being labeled a child abuser. We named her Amelia, but when she says it, it's a much more androgynous "Meyia." She has picked out some blue clothes to wear on occasion. Do I need to be sure to sew some pink bows on them so that everyone is immediately aware that she has a vagina, and I guess it serves as a stern reminder for her too?
