Sorry, who is "Sky Wizard"?

Yes, genocide is one way "Survival of the Fittest" plays out.
Genocide is nature's way of weeding out undesirables (if you buy into Evolution).

You might actually be right there.

But certainly not for the reasons you think, and not for your definition of "fit".

People have been committing genocide since way before Darwin.
If I remember God ordered it back in the day against the Canaanites.

Evolution is something different. It deals with reproducing. Social Darwinism has to do with stronger humans dominating weaker ones but even the people who are exterminated were fit enough to survive until they reproduced.

Quite so!

The Canaanites were wicked, and wanted to exterminate the Jews. They were given many years to repent and turn from their wicked ways. When they refused, God ordered the Jews to destroy them.

If people are nothing more than "highly evolved pond scum"*, then a man killing another man is no more praiseworthy or blameworthy than a lion killing an antelope.

*I got that phrase from Astrophysicist Jason Lisle, PhD.

Was there a SCOTUS ruling on evolution denial or is this just another derail?

I think it was just a fancy version of the 'why did God give men nipples' argument.

Right, there has been genocide and it's justification for at least 7 thousand years.

I'm never sure if we're highly evolved pond scum or just generic pond scum.

We're so intelligent as a species and have such a social instinct and yet we can't actually work together for any common good. At least not for long.

But no worries, we keep reproducing so....winning.

RBG's spirit is tough as nails. If anyone can beat cancer at her age, it would be her.

Oh boy.

If only there was an opposition party we may not have an overt fascist dictatorship on 5 years.

The billionaires seem nice enough.

Bolded is one of the nuttiest things I have ever read on this board. It makes no more sense than saying that, if you believe in evolution, then you must believe Chernobyl was nature's way of weeding out people who are not immune to radiation poisoning.

If RBG dies around the time of the election, and Biden wins, McConnell and company are going to face the choice of a lifetime. If Senate Republicans go full crazy and try to approve a hard line conservative in a lame duck session, I think there will be considerable social unrest. Many members of the court will break protocol and openly criticize the process. Some will threaten to resign. Biden will face enormous pressure to try and pack the Court.

In short, everything will go haywire and the Court will be hugely and permanently diminished.

Also, if RBG dies a month before the election, and Senate Republicans refuse to commit to not ramming an appointment through in the lame duck session, I think it will virtually guarantee a Biden victory. It could affect the Senate races as well.

God forbid she die before the election but you don't honestly think there's any question that they push the most conservative hack through if she does, do you ?

The court can't really be diminished anymore at this point, can it ?
