What does it mean to throw someone under a bus? He released their exchanges to show that he wasn't threatening to her, not to embarrass her or cause her ridicule.

It's basically Trump's legacy and what he accomplished during his 4 years in office.

There are some distinctions between mic&deep state. It's kinda tough to pass of the good old mic as a bunch of wacky libs. So give it a different name this time around and make the defn a little more nebulous--just a bunch of civil servants all over govt--and definitely a bunch of commies as fate would have it

Meanwhile for being at odds--trump increased defense budgets/dropped bombs like crazy and removed oversight. I'm sure they really hated that. Trimming the state dept could be read as a volley--but it could also be read as a gift to the kinds of people who would be happy to see those guys out of their hair
