On another note, I love that PB threw this in his latest offering:

Has PB actually learned from all the other CTs he bought into and then fell flat, or did he think this "disclaimer" would make it less embarrassing for him when nothing happened like usual? If the latter, unfortunately for him, we all knew that no, it could not "also possibly be something very big".

But seeing his post inspired me to jump into the posting time machine to find his last post in this thread prior to the one above. Turns out this is it, from October 2021:

Yup, it sure is.
FWIW the new Mod has asked we do not dig up prior posts as gotchas or to make points about people being in wrong in prior exchanges.

PB needs to be treated as if credible and if whatever he is saying today, is in no way impacted by prior statements or positions.

We are nice now, so accuracy does not matter.

These clowns have a very unsophisticated website where you can donate money. I suspect that this whole thing is mostly a grift.

The government didn't even bother to respond to the petition.

Your first statement here is correct. I don't think the next two logically follow from that.

For example, I'm not going to dredge up and cite your previous mistakes, but I will never treat anything you say in the future as credible, since you have proven that you don't read thoroughly and are unable to follow a discussion.

Playbig’s incorrect predictions about the end of our govt and society as we know it are not as numerous as your misuse of the Carlin meme and the tortured vanilla-chocolate analogies. He, at least, dreams big. Kinda like the Trillion dollar prayer for damages.

I encourage Playbig to post as much as possible, as long as he keeps it to this thread. He is highly entertaining.

He is my canary in the coal mine for the end of days.

Sure but i am correct when i say those things so there is that.

Also the mod has told us we should not be bringing up peoples past posting to malign them or to make countering posts against them., even if they are inconsistent or claim positions now in direct contrast with what they said prior while disclaiming them. We are to let all that go in the spirit of being 'nice'.

So lets give that a chance.

You need to direct that to Jjjou, as bringing up past use of the carlin meme, is not nice as I do not appreciate it and demand everyone stop doing it now.

How about we just ban any use or even mention of the Carlin meme?
It never adds anything to the discussion.

It adds pin point clarity to what mistake the person is making and to the embarrassment of the person most times who then goes on a denial rant, attacking the meme and its use.

Does that include all uses, even when it is used against you, or could you clarify when exactly it does that?

Do you think it is a positive thing for the forum for posters to become embarrassed and go on rants of denial?

it could not properly be used against me as i do not make the mistake of the meme.

People who do like to just say i do as a way to cover them doing it.

You will notice when I cite the meme i cite examples that clearly fit the meme and it is not the same the other way. If you did not notice that in the past, pay attention in the future and you will see it.

It is important to point out when certain posters use fallacious argumentative techniques and points over and over as a way to try and prompt change and better posting. That is why 'strawmen' and various 'logical fallacies', are often cited too, with the appropriate citations to the fallacy.

if someone keeps making an "Appeal to Authority" fallacy and does not realize why it is wrong to do so, you do not stop calling them out for that fallacy, when they use it, and just argue against the fallacy. That would be foolish as that would then make the fallacious point look valid.

When people trip into the Carlin Meme fallacy it also needs to be called out. We should NOT be arguing 'I like Vanilla best' ... 'No you like Chocolate best, and i can demonstrate why' and have that go on 10 pages. The second person, so convinced their position is correct because of something they read or interpreted needs to understand they are committing the Carlin meme fallacy and STOP. if you do not call them, and explain it (tell them it is the Carlin Meme fallacy) it is clear that MOST posters here will not know it. And will deny it, right up until they cannot anymore.

So, you gave a one sentence non-answer to my first question, and then a lot of BS that you've said at least 20 times before. Seems like this is one of those "no content posts" I've heard about.

And you "forgot" to answer this:

Do you think it is a positive thing for the forum for posters to become embarrassed and go on rants of denial?
