Dude, this is all about civil law. That was pretty much my point above. There is nothing about criminal liability in this article.

Repeated references to "torts" and "tortfeasors" should have been a clue. "Tort", in civil law, is any liability incurred as not a result of a breach of an explicit contract.

? I must be struggling to comprehend what you say. From the article

Quote:
In criminal law, the general maxim is that the defendant must "take their victims as they find them", as echoed in the judgment of Lord Justice Lawton in R v. Blaue (1975), in which the defendant was held responsible for killing his victim, despite his contention that her refusal of a blood transfusion constituted an intervening act.[6]
Quote:
The doctrine is applied in all areas of torts – intentional torts, negligence, and strict liability cases – as well as in criminal law. There is no requirement of physical contact with the victim – if a trespasser's wrongful presence on the victim's property so terrifies the victim that he has a fatal heart attack, the trespasser will be liable for the damages stemming from his original tort.[citation needed] The foundation for this rule is based primarily on policy grounds. The courts do not want the defendant or accused to rely on the victim's own vulnerability to avoid liability.

For sure some people are going to get minor charges like trespassing or illegal entry or things like disturbing the peace or the equivalent. Put there will be dozens of cases of murder, manslaughter, felony murder, and maybe hundreds named as accessories both directly and after the fact. Plus potential conspiracy charges that carry with them felony murder.

Like, even overlooking the cop who was killed, what kinds of charges are going to be levied against the gang that was in the foyer when the chick from San Diego was shot?
I'm not overlooking anything. I'm the guy who pointed out that we weren't just talking about trespassing charges. That said, I would bet a lot of money that there will not be "hundreds" of people charges as accessories to murder, and I highly doubt that there will be "dozens" of people charged with murder, manslaughter, or felony murder.

I can pretty much guarantee that the people in the foyer with the woman from San Diego will not be charged with murder, manslaughter, or felony murder arising from her death. If you were thinking they would be charged with felony murder because they were committing a felony and she died, you are misunderstanding how felony murder works.

I think even if she thought it was going to amount to little or nothing she want brag and feel like she was at the center of something.

The question is, does she use any language that suggests her daughter knows what her stated intent is, or did she discuss that directly with her daughter?

I am betting there are some pretty good attempts to destroy communications trails going on.
Yes, which would add destruction of evidence to the charges. Because you know the FBI will be getting the emails and texts directly from the providers, not from the people themselves. That makes deleting them a very bad idea.

d2_e4,

Are you just trying to donate money to charity? If so, good for you.

Given what I've found out since I made the post to which you just responded, it would appear so. Anyway, I do need to donate some money to charity, and might as well get to run my mouth for the privilege.

Also, I believe one of the protestors who died was trampled, so it's possible that some charges come out of that, although that does seem much less likely.
And i cannot remember if I read it here but the one trampled had a 'don't tread on me' protest t-shirt on.

True story.

FBI investigating woman said to have stolen Pelosi’s laptop during Capitol riot to sell to Russia

- The Federal Bureau of Investigation has obtained an arrest warrant for a woman alleged to have stolen a laptop from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., during the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, with the intention of selling the device to the Russian equivalent of the Central Intelligence Agency.

- In an affidavit signed on Sunday, FBI Special Agent Jonathan Lund said the agency was investigating Riley June Williams after a person described as her “former romantic partner” told authorities that Williams intended to send the computer to a friend in Russia who would then pass it along to the SVR, the country’s spy force.

- Lund wrote that the former romantic partner said the transfer of the laptop “fell through for unknown reasons” and that Williams either still has the device or destroyed it.

Williams appears to have fled, Lund wrote in his affidavit. Williams’s mother told local law enforcement in Harrisburg, Pa. that Williams had “packed a bag and left her home and told her mother she would be gone for a couple of weeks.”

“WILLIAMS did not provide her mother any information about her intended destination,” Lund wrote. “Sometime after January 6, 2021, WILLIAMS changed her telephone number and deleted what I believe were her social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Reddit, Telegram, and Parler.”...

Just to be clear I wasn't trying to suggest Roc didn't know what he's talking about, because he's almost always totally on point. Cuepee either.

I just feel like the deaths are going to be a serious problem for a lot of the people who didn't think they did anything all that wrong. Including the people giving the speeches that morning.

I didn't know that someone got smashed with a fire extinguisher. Can I revise my bet to exclude that?

Joking, obviously. Given that information, I think you are dead right and whoever wielded the fire extinguisher as a weapon will be charged with manslaughter at the very least, so my bet is dead, basically. I doubt that anyone else will be charged though, so I stand by my assessment that there won't be dozens/hundreds of felony murder and accessory charges.

The clock is counting down on Monday bud, did your high level military family do a little too much holiday partying and forget to release that info? Looking forward to seeing it!

Yo, PlayBig2000, pro tip: anyone who is "someone" never, ever, refers to it the way you did. Also, they don't make user names with "big" or "69" in the name. You're welcome.
