You are using your own political definition of 'left' though right?

As most definitions, used by bodies that define this would see Progressives fall on the left side of the spectrum.

For instance i always like to say this when it comes to Canada and US when it comes to Left | Centre | Right politics on the spectrum of the two nations when considering major parties.


NDP ................... Liberal Party/Conservative Party (Progressives if they were a party) | Centre | ............Democrat Party ............. GOP ........... (Trumpists if they split out)

i would be interested to see how others plot this and also adding in where some major European Parties fall.

The most "center" party in the U.S.A. would probably be the Green Party.

and that just means that those nations benefit greatly from cheap resources from exploited nations. even if their exploitation of their own people is minimal (its surely not), they are still maintaining their lifestyle due to the world economy relying on thievery and murder within resource rich nations.

There other possible configurations, but in the state of play as it is the only available check of power to capitalists is the state, this is why progressives are in favour of it, but that is a hugely gross simplification.

Since I almost always see snow in pictures of Switzerland, I thought that made them Nordic by definition.

That said, my point that Democratic-Socialist countries benefiting from American capitalism I believe is still valid.

1. Many Libertarians support the death penalty.

2. Many Anarchists support the death-penalty as well. It's just not the state-authorized version of killing people.
