I oppose both tax cuts. But albertans, and there (fake) love of low taxes should absolutely LOVE justin trudeau for this. But let's check in here with our resident albertans to see whether he gets an ounce of credit for this: nobody? Of course not, albertas are all on the rhetorical (as they won't actually do anything) #wexit train complaining and complaining about how evil the big trudeau meanie is to them and how their feelings are all hurt by him daring to talk about climate change while he is implimenting the exact things they claim they actually want: pipelines and low taxes

Again you are grouping me in. I love low taxes but I prefer fiscal responsibility. That huge tax cut was 2% if your income fell between $44,700- $89,401. He also said it would be a revenue neutral tax cut. It wasn't

Talk about Climate Change Woo Hoo but no plan to get there other than cripple two provinces.

Promised modest deficits and a balanced budget by 2019. Not even close and abandoned those promises
National Security and military never delivered on those like Harper
Electoral Reform scrapped that one
Promises to Veterans he never kept
lower the federal debt to GDP ratio
Promised to lower the Small business tax from 11% to 9% Nope
Open and transparent government
Dumbest one was Restore home mail delivery.

Though I should give him credit for Syrian Refugees and the leadership role he took there.

Love how he marches in the pride parade and yet gives money to African nations to buy votes for the UN when these nations still consider homosexuality a crime.

Right now he is looking like a fool as our country is shut down by blockades. No way his father would have taken that stance. Sadly I think Justin may go down as one of Canada's worst prime ministers a little behind Harper

So Grande I hate Trudeau you love Trudeau. No pointing debating that. That's what elections are for as we cant impeach him

What do you think Trudeau needs to do with the blockades?

I think the best approach is to pull the RCMP off the Wetsuweten project with the agreement that all blockades removed in 24 hours and give the Heredity Chiefs and Elected 30 days time to possibly resolve the issue.

I don't love trudeau even a little bit. I think he is a feckless idiot who is becoming harper reincarnated by giving everything to alberta and ****ing the environment and the rest of the country in the process. And I think albertans, as you say, "hate him" for doing 95% of what they actually want. I push back at you mainly as a devil's advocate kind of thing because I think you dislike the guy so strongly you say silly things. I also dislike the guy, but at least tell myself I say reasonable things about him I should probably just become an NDP supporter because **** these libs at this point, but something about me just can't make it happen.

Anyways, i have legit zero clue what to do with blockades and wet'suwet'en broadly. The sense I have is that the tribe is extremely rallied around the hereditary chiefs (aka it isn't just those few guys, the big potluck's are basically the entire tribe agreeing to fight this to the bitter end). So I don't know that a 30 day time delay works. But I don't know what else works.

We have a blockade as well now

He is in a horrible spot as he says he will not tell the RCMP to intervene. Watched CBC Powerplay with Vassy and she asked than you really can not ask the RCMP to leave the land either.

I do not think he much of a choice other than
  • Have the RCMP leave the Wetsuweten Land
  • Have the RCMP or Military remove all blockades

CN laid off 450 workers yesterday and another 1100 coming

I know very little about hockey, but what is the difference between putting a guy like that in the game and just taking some random defenseman and having him put on the gear and play goalie?

Wouldn't the end result be pretty much the same?

I only bring it up because it seems like this emergency goalie stuff happens somewhat often, and I can't think of another sport where it would be possible. In baseball, guys who aren't pitchers take the mound somewhat frequently, and in football each team has contingencies in place in case a kicker or a qb is needed.

Hockey seems to be the only sport where they just throw some guy off the street into the game.

Difference would be huge. In those other sports, the replacements likely played that position at some point in their career. Shortstop or outfielder probably pitched until some level. Football guys all throw the football. In hockey, none of those guys play goalie. Maybe once in their life for jokes. I played hockey to the same competitive level as that replacement goalie played, Jr. B. Still play in men's league. So going on ~35 years of hockey. Never once played goalie. A 16 year old competitive goaltender would fare better than a 30 year old NHL defenceman who is forced to don the pads. I'm trying to think of a comparison in another sport. Can't really come up with one. The goalie position is just so unique and different from the other hockey positions. And important too. Even in soccer, there are so few shots it doesn't matter much and if the opposing team just opens it up and shoots more, they'd be from further out and average athletic person could probably make a save.

I was thinking about that. If every pitch there was a runner on 3rd so a passed ball meant run scored

These blockades are super easy to solve. As per the natives' press conference they are not on the tracks so they disagree with media reporting that they are blockading the tracks. CN can start running trains again asap. If they are questioned they can simply respond with "as per the natives press conference on Feb 21 they are not blockading the tracks". Why has noone brought this up???

That seems to only be the one blockade plus they have vehicles close by that they can park on the track.

which of course they will interpret 100% as being trudeau's fault and not even a tiny bit their own.

Nope it was the overall's countries lack of a clear position on Climate Change, Which I think Kenney needs to own up to as well. Though Trudeau has no plan other than his 2050 plan with no way of getting there

9 years to get a project approved and than still wait on the Liberals is a joke.

Alberta wins on the Carbon Tax will see how that plays out in the spring at the Supreme Court Level.

Well Im glad Trudeau is handling the blockades so well.

Well Maybe the Leafs miss the playoffs by one point and ill be happy again

I mean I think everyone in the country thinks the blockade handling sucks. But lol at blaming the climate change thing on Trudeau or Canada.

I tried to find the story in US news. Was hard, it really got buried. I guess failed $20B infrastructure projects just dont make the cut. But I did see they got the choo-choo's running again, so yay for Canada.

Teck withdrew their application as per the CEO that the Liberal were not going to make a decision this week on the project instead indefinitely delay the decision.

Spineless Justin could not even say "we will not approve"

Blockades continue but not here in Alberta as will rip them down ourselves like we did last week
