Woo Hoo rumors are border restrictions will be gone and the Arrive Can app Sadly though masks may stay

Trust the science they say?? Not sure what has changed other than our Authoritarian leader is letting just a bit of his control go

Everything in seeing masks are done as well? As someone who has been flying regularly since this all started, thanks Peirre!

Indeed. I do think a lot of sort of folk personal finance people get quite caught up in the short term fluctuations especially if (like myself) there is no real intention of moving for 5-10 years, and if we did move it would be to upgrade as our finances get stronger so a lower market is actually neutral/good for us.

True but we were spoiled with some really low rates . When you look at a 70 year average 5% seems to be a common place yes we have had extremes. I think now may be a good time to lock in if its your primary residence.

My Credit Union has offered me 4.9% for 3 years. Chances are I will lock in and Rent my house while I am in Kimberley for 3 years building

Interesting tidbit is BC is building currently at Step 3 Energy Code and by 2032 all new homes must be Net Zero. That leads the way in Canada .

What does "Step 3 energy code" mean?

Step 3 means the house needs to be 20% more energy efficient than last years standards and Step 4 kicks in in 2025 and that will be 40 %

Just in time for me as I am flying to the US for the first time since covid began, at the end of this month.

The mask mandate just needs to be optional at this point. I will likely wear my N95 on the way down to the US on my flight but not on my way back if, not forced too. I am more inclined to voluntarily use the extra protection at the start of a work trip like that so I am not sick during it, then when I am returning home and can better manage being sick.

But requiring masks at this point is almost entirely theatre as people are taking them on and off to drink and eat, etc.

Same here flying out on Friday the 30th. I still think you need to provide Proof of Vaccination to enter the USA though.

Will not be wearing a mask

I need you and Lozen to do predictions so I can make bank. You did not and there is really no market for Italian elections. Feel free to offer some of your gifted insight in the upcoming US elections as that will always help, and good luck with your refinancing. Thanks!

All the best.

I have to admit you be doing really well taking the opposite of my NFL picks in the Sports thread weekly picking contest

Italy is a sign that Europe is also getting tired of the failed left leadership.

Great the Covid restrictions drop on the first . Flying on the 30th. Just drop them the same day. Sadly no science is being involved anymore on Covid

That would be a stupid takeaway, given that the previous government in Italy was not on the left. It was a collapsed coalition government.

Pretty much anyone who looks to Italian politics to see where the wind is blowing in European politics reveals that he doesn't know anything about Italian politics or European politics. Italy is very much its own thing.

Your take isn't very hard to track however, as it is a bog standard Pan-European nationalism. In this case likely of North-American origin, and sifted through the usual suspects of "conservative" pundits.

Oh its got a ways to go but it is gaining in popularity across Europe. I am curious how a cold cold winter will effect peoples opinions on some of the climate policies

Well, except for the part where it isn't. It rises in some countries, ebbs off in others.

Though the "Brothers of Italy" is certainly representative of 2022 in terms of ideology: Crypto-fascists who claim to be conservatives.

The type of people who just happen to end up at protests organized by Nazis, together with people who raise Nazi flags, but it isn't actually a Nazi protest and only the biased MSM and its readers would think that it is.

One could also say it is a sign that Italy, which has a history of changing governments like you change shirts, changed its government yet again, but that reality might not fit the narrative you want. Perhaps the real story is on Hunter's laptop, which is something you and others really need to focus on more.

All the best.

Yes lozen, Justin Trudeau totally is deeply involved in the minutia of CFI policy and the reason he has unilaterally made this decision is not about a balance of priorities you disagree with but because he is personally a heartless human being.

ffs.

Well I am waiting for him to announce a platform

Id like to see the carbon tax scrapped
Plan to tackle Opioid addiction
Deficit reduction
Scrap the Assault Rifle ban and Handgun ban
Increase penalties for crimes with a weapon
More funding for veterans
Clean drinking water for all communities
Support for our farmers and the oil industry
Appoint a qualified cabinet not based on gender.

The ones I have no clue on are Homelessness and affordable housing but than neither does the current government.

Though right now ill I care is anyone but Trudeau . What JT has done will take generations to fix

Uke may say What about a Climate Change platform. I know he plans on putting one in but my guess it will be as weak as the current one

It seems like you do not like Trudeau, so when you say things like it will take generations to fix the country that reflects your obsessive take and is hardly reflective of the population, or even close to it. Note, I say this knowing it will not change your need to vent endlessly about the guy like Grandpa Simpson telling a story about onions, just letting you know the reality of the situation. Feel free to ignore that lesson of self awareness and carry on.

I guess the items on your list I would ask how much did women being put on the cabinet bother you, since you are suggesting the females were not as qualified due to being female then the old white dudes that I assume would have been more to your liking. No doubt you have a few specific females you can cite to say that is not the case, much like people talk about how they have friends who are xxx, but that seems to be what your position is on that topic, so feel free to expand more on it. Thanks!

So u would give a blank check to polievre ?
that some great voting strategy with many great prior success...

i have no idea what JT did that bad that will take generations to fix.
i do not have many countries i can enumerated that are better then canada positioning, beside the US ...
Can u name me a few ?
Surely it would be easy if JT was as bad as u claim ?

Well when I base my assessment on generations to recover I am talking about the deficit. Yes I do realize we had a covid epidemic but many experts say over 50 % of the funds dispersed were not needed or receive fraudulently. And he hasn't stopped. He has flat out said he has no concern for fiscal policy and we all remember

I personally would be good with a whole cabinet of woman without men if they were more qualified than the men but when you announce that you are going to appoint 50% of the cabinet as woman you may be eliminating qualified men from the role just to be woke . I would consider Anita Anand a star in the liberal party and Melanie Jolie a dud .

When only 30% of all your MP's in the Liberal caucus are 33 % I just dont get the woke policy .
