yes, while the Trump and Biden situations are no where near the same, as Trump was actively trying to steal the documents in defiance of the law whereas Biden, did as required and reported it as soon as discovered, i do think people have gone to jail for what Biden did regardless. The saving grace for Biden though might be that the location was a SCIF prior,(?) so technically he might not have transported secure material outside of secure locations and may have just forgot some in one??? I think the other people charged in the past transported secure documents to insecure locations (work from home or hotel) and that was the basis of the charges.

I "am not sure" but i have seen some reporting that during his time as VP that was one of the sites he had authorized where he could view secure material much as Trump did with Mara Lago while he was POTUS. These guys can get permission to use their other locations for such viewings.

As to why the lawyers would be looking, that is not too much of a stretch. If you thought the place had all sorts of confidential personal and business records, potentially left behind, that had nothing to do with National Archive stuff, you still would likely want your lawyers to go collect it all, as they have an obligation to Privacy. Sending in movers, could lead to leaks, or finding of Hunters other laptop, and that suddenly making it on TMZ.

You want people you know won't snoop or leak anything they see in the doc's they feel they can monetize.

Heck even I, would only allow certain trusted office assistance to go poke around my office desk, if i was traveling and needed something found. I did not want 'random employee XYZ' to do it who might find something they would then gossip about, and I really did not have anything like that. But you want your personal stuff kept personal.
