We're in the middle of a pandemic and the FDA just approved the vaccines. You should really be willing to get a free vaccine that you're given easy access to unless you have a good reason (not the fact that you've evaluated your risk and find yourself safe) not to have it.

Adding the vaccine to prior infection very likely does raise your immunity, and we really need a lot more community immunity if society wants to get past this pandemic ever (here's one source some other doctor cited, I haven't personally read it: https://www.ndm.ox.ac.uk/covid-19/co...ts/new-studies )

And sure, prior infection seems more protective than the vaccine. But that doesn't mean that this isn't now a pandemic of the unvaccinated. Would you find it less politicizing to say that it's a pandemic of the unvaccinated in un-previously infected? Since we're not going to recommend people go get the infection, we need to encourage everyone to get vaccinated. That is the simple effective step that can greatly reduce infection and hospitalization risk. This isn't a political statement if you don't have crazy political views.

For Trump, we didn't even have to wait for a book, we knew this after 4 months. Want to Change Trump's Mind on Policy? Be the Last One to Talk to Him. Biden seems to be the exact opposite. He thought we should have left Afghanistan in 2009 and is sticking to his guns, for better or worse.

At least Trump if he is going to change his position it would be something that tends to enhance the nation's security not like what we would see with Biden which would only be to weaken it as we have seen with the Afghan pull out.
