Sure. The whole forum would be much better if everyone ignored attacks. Why do so many have to be so sensitive?

Otherwise, report the post if you feel it's inappropriate. I'm still figuring out if it's best to just delete such posts or to comment on them or whatever. Rococo might have a different opinion, but in any case reporting the post is much better that turning it into a multi-post, off-topic discussion that really will never end with anyone being satisfied.

I realize that you're a psychiatrist and not a psychologist, but as someone with a bit of experience in how the human mind works, do you really think it's reasonable to expect people to ignore attacks on them?

ganstaman did not greenlight any and all personal attacks. No one told specific posters that they cannot respond to criticism in a reasonable way. ganstaman simply suggested that posters in a particular thread devote less time to insulting each other and more time to discussing the actual topic. That's completely reasonable and should be an easy recommendation for middle-aged adults to follow. Let's move on.

I did not whine to the mods about Trolly. I was completely content to deal with Trolly on my own, and it was the mods that prevened me from doing so.
