The fact that some repeatedly make this 'mistake' doesn't justify it in other cases. I put mistake in quotes because it commonly it's done deliberately. The intention is to denigrate other group by making generalisations that would be considered bad if true.

Even if you don't like the PC stuff, it's either a genuine bias or a deliberate intention to denigrate a group, but for the usual old PC reason denigrating 'the right' for example isn't such a big deal whereas denigrating Muslims in an analogous way contributes to a lot of harm.
