To charitably argue jkpoker's viewpoint I'd agree that burning and destroying police and public property is far superior to community businesses.

Oh wait, they tried that already and got accused of how bad a look it was.
Darn, anyone else with anymore ideas?
I think it would be easier to defend kneeling now vs then but the point you make is valid. Kneeling probably will just hurt athletes that do it like before in the nfl.

I mean it’s sad the police office won’t be charged here even though he was extremely negligent.

That police officer deserves death. Please don’t hate on this but feel I would rather see looters go after police officer at fault vs looting innocent businesses. I just feel peaceful protesting would really help the African American communities look here.

Cool, so what do you do with your life?? Well let's see, I joined a union working for the govt in a capacity where I bring the govt in to people's lives everyday, you got a problem with that? k

Maybe I'm crazy, but if I were protesting in Minnesota, I think that I would be more likely to get in violent confrontation with police than I would be to loot a store or torch a car.

That said, right-wing stories that portray protesters as mostly opportunistic criminals are appalling.

Ok.
Given how trump is known to operate, yeah sounds extremely likely. Trump is also on his phone with his “friends” all night. There is a significant probability one of these gossip sessions had this quote fed to him.

People should not downplay these phone calls he has nightly. Outside of Fox News, it is where he gets almost all of his information. He ignores his intelligence briefings every day but does act diligently on the whispers from his friends. I wish this was even a tiny bit hyperbolic. Vince McMahon? Sean Hannity? Absolutely have more sway over this administration than whomever is the National Security Advisor at the time, unless they make it Jared.

I don't know if you are a native English speaker, but this was way beyond negligence as that term is used in U.S. law.

Ok.
Well Named thought it was merely a serendipitous coincidence that Trump stumbled upon the exact phrasing previously used by police forces. I don't think it was.

Clearly the officers were yelling get back, and whatever verbal communications the CNN crew was attempting, they were not moving at all. So seeing no movement and probably not understanding the verbal communication at all, the officers decided in the moment to just start making arrests.

You guys are welcome.
According to the CNN reporter (who is cool as heck and a credit to his profession), the arresting officer said he did not actually know why he had been ordered to make the arrest. (In Britain, that would mean the arrest was illegal, because the reason for arrest must be stated.)

I wouldn't say coincidence, but I could imagine Trump having heard it and liking the way it sounded, without ever really caring about the context at all.

I mean, if a monkey tweets out random **** all day long, it will eventually tweet out the 14 Words, so this could be a coincidence. We can't rush to judgement without knowing whether Trump has a long history of throwing out racist dogwhistles and catchphrases.

I agree. Trump isn't thoughtful enough to care about the context.

7 people in Louisville Kentucky were shot last night during protests over the Breonna Taylor case.

Protests are turning violent. Agree that people should be arrested, not shot, for looting or non violent offenses. Tear gas, mace, tasers, etc.

For sure. But I am not going to hold any property damage against any of them right now.

I am a extremely privileged white male in America and this has me tilting. I can’t even imagine feelings after watching this play out for and over and over and over like the Jordan Peele remake of Groundhog Day.

Anyone who isn’t understanding and empathizing with how the protestors got to this point have something seriously wrong with them.
