Good argument cuepee. I'm liberal, but I was for the war. I'm in my 50's, I was an adult when 9/11 happened. Who wasn't for the war back then? I was politically neutral up until my 30's anyway. That is, I was for the war in Afghanistan. Not so sure about Iraq.
It's just a hard pill to swallow that all those years were for nothing. As soon as we crippled all Qaeda we should have gotten out.

This case bothered me more than most others do.

Grand jury in Elijah McClain investigation indicts officers, medics in 2019 death
The announcement comes just over two years since the death of McClain, 23, who had told police, "I can't breathe," after they placed him in a chokehold.

------------

A socially awkward, young feeble boy killed by cops and medics who if for not walking while black the few blocks between his home and a store, would still be alive.

Oh how his mother must be haunted by her decision and not recognizing the threat posed by cops to a young black man who the cops will look at and think his very presence there entitles them to stop and harass him.

"...McClain's mother Sheneen moved her family of six from Denver to Aurora to avoid gang violence, thinking it would be safer in Aurora..."

Quote:
According to body cam audio, these were McClain's last words as he was restrained by police officers:[28]

I can't breathe. I have my ID right here. My name is Elijah McClain. That's my house. I was just going home. I'm an introvert. I'm just different. That's all. I'm so sorry. I have no gun. I don't do that stuff. I don't do any fighting. Why are you attacking me? I don't even kill flies! I don't eat meat! But I don't judge people, I don't judge people who do eat meat. Forgive me. All I was trying to do was become better. I will do it. I will do anything. Sacrifice my identity, I'll do it. You all are phenomenal. You are beautiful and I love you. Try to forgive me. I'm a mood Gemini. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. Ow, that really hurt! You are all very strong. Teamwork makes the dream work. Oh, I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to do that. I just can't breathe correctly.

This is a great first step towards justice that all opnining agree wuld not have happened if not for the murder of George Floyd and the extra scrutiny that caused. A conviction will be the next required step.

For those who do not know these are the cops returning to the scene, after the Prosecutor refused to indict them, when this happened, to mock and make fun of Elijah's death by recreating the scene and how he died, while laughing at it.

Very reminiscent of how many white supremacist types now laugh doing "I can't breath" George Floyd mocking movements to POC when they are seen in verbal conflicts.

Other than any pro-abortion-rights people posting in this thread, who else would you describe as a "murder apologist?"

As well it shouldn't, in my opinion.

You do seem awfully upset by a phrase that you are sure does not apply to you.

Which thankfully in your world is something that does not ever actually happen, unless I suppose the officer declares “I hereby intend to murder you,” before murdering someone.

Edit: There probably needs to be a notarized confession after the fact as well.

I would describe the various assclowns ITF who have defended the Aubrey killing as being pro-murder.

I agree with you that anybody defending the Aubrey killing would be pro-murder.

Today was the "support the insurrectionists in jail" demonstration at the Capitol. Counter-protestors arrived carrying "support our police" placards. Strange times.

Once again the system shows for some that ignorant of the law is no excuse, even if you are deaf and your ignorance is you cannot follow instructions you cannot hear.

"Hanning was fired from the police force in July after he was charged with third-degree assault in an unrelated incident, The Associated Press reports. He allegedly used his stun gun on a 75-year-old man without warning. As of July, Summers was still an officer with the Idaho Springs police."

This is not policing abuse but is Judicial Abuse focused on jailing mostly black kids, so close enough.

And I am sure the For Profit Prison that gives kick backs, per young person incarcerated back to the community has nothing to do with this abuse.

Quote:
Black Children Were Jailed for a Crime That Doesn’t Exist. Almost Nothing Happened to the Adults in Charge.
Judge Donna Scott Davenport oversees a juvenile justice system in Rutherford County, Tennessee, with a staggering history of jailing children. She said kids must face consequences, which rarely seem to apply to her or the other adults in charge.

Quote:
Investigation into Rutherford's juvenile justice system released

WPLN and ProPublica on Friday published a joint investigation into Rutherford County's juvenile justice system.

The sweeping piece, which is getting national attention, includes a detailed examination of the controversial 2016 arrests of elementary students on a criminal charge that doesn't actually exist.

...

Why it matters: Rutherford County's approach to juvenile justice has faced scrutiny for years. The new investigation profiles the 2016 arrests and the adults behind the system, and shows how many of them have escaped serious consequences.

The investigation included 2014 data showing Rutherford County locked up kids in 48% of its juvenile court cases. The statewide average was 5%.

Background: The county in June agreed to pay up to $11 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging more than 1,000 children had been illegally incarcerated.

As much as $7.75 million will go to children who were arrested or incarcerated under Rutherford County policies.

Is there a single person who watches this below and thinks that in a time pre dating personal video recording devices this POC would not only be charged (as he was) but convicted for

This is childish nonsense from both but clearly instigated by a cop in power trying to provoke some reactions and looking for a reason he can use to arrest the POC.

Police harassment through and through and yet the POC is the one now trying to fight off the bogus charge of Disorderly Conduct and having a small amount of Pot on him.

I remember seeing this case back when it started. It has now concluded.

IMO this is one of the most egregious offenses in society. Cops abusing their power and trust to jail or lie about innocent people is worse offense that a crime committed on a person by a criminal and should be treated much worse.

Former deputy Zachary Wester sentenced to more than 12 years in prison for drug planting

...Former Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy Zachary Wester will spend the next 12 years in prison, after being found guilty of planting drugs on multiple motorists.

Wester, 28, was sentenced Tuesday to 12 and a half years in state prison in connection with 19 guilty verdicts handed down in May.

They range from felonies such as racketeering, official misconduct, fabricating evidence and false imprisonment to misdemeanors such as possession of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia and perjury...

...“People voluntarily grant their government awesome powers they deem necessary for public safety and protection,” he said. “With that great power comes great responsibility. The defendant made choices to violate that trust and committed crimes against those people he was sworn to protect.”...

Original charges against him and video planting drugs.

I feel like we watched a different video. Agree they are both juvenile idiots but the civilian keeps returning to antagonize the officer. The civilian says stop following me and the cop stands still, the civilian walks away, the cop walks away but the civilian then returns to antagonize the cop claiming he feels threatened but he is the one following the cop?

This is not a newsworthy interaction just two roosters puffing their chests at each other and the civilian rooster was given the chance to end it but kept wanting to crow.
