I don't know the laws on Texas, nor have I ever claimed to. I do know that guy is a terrible governor and a horrible person though. Anyone who ever votes for him again, while knowing about this, is also a terrible person.

If I made the laws it would be execution for the convicted and the governor. And if I didn't become king until after the next election, execution for all those voters as well.

Edit: Almost forgot, execution for the members of the parole board too!

Yes i know you dislike his political preferences and those of his voters.

See that i was spot on with "go and vote another governor"? you now claim if you could you would have him killed.

That's how much you respect democratic, constitutional outcomes you disagree with.

It has nothing to do with the democratic outcomes, it has to do with people who are evil. If that guy wasn't elected to anything I would still execute him.

But don't think too much of it - if I were king at least 90% of the population wouldn't be long for this world, and humanity would be extinct within a century.

something terrible is happening to the minds of girls and young women in western societies.

These are hospitalizations by sex and age bracket in france 2012 to 2023, for self harm reasons

I would have presumed it was social media but the spike comes later and is probably more easily explained as the consequences of lockdowns.

Venezuela just annexed a piece of Guyana, I hope leftists here can condemn this atrocious act by a communist country and agree with doing what we can to undo it.

And it's time we force the hand of other countries to treat Venezuela as a criminal rogue actor, or be considered one themselves.

Talking about Brazil in particular

When did this happen? I cant find anything on the web. I know Venezuela was posturing to take a piece of Guyana, but haven't heard any news they acted definitively on it yet.

Italian press agency ANSA reported it, saying a Venezuelan military commander posted photos of annexed Essequibo on his social media page saying they finally have a military presence in what they consider "their 24th state"

My understanding is the US has also sent signals to Venezuela they did not approve of their designs on Guyana (not that Venezuela is in the habit of doing what the US wants)

Republicans shouldn’t care much about that stuff .
They didn’t care about Russia annexing Ukraine anyway …and they still don’t .

Currently Islamists are destroying artifacts in Sudan, destroying thousands of years of history. This is a similar theme we have seen throughout the MENA in the last century or so.

I think a wildly under-appreciated aspect of British colonialism is how they persevered historical artifacts and history that would have otherwise been destroyed, especially in the MENA where the current colonial powers are antithetical to any history/art that isn't their own.

Obviously, we all hope Italy never gets to this point.

If you think having Islamists destroying ancient artifacts is better than them being preserved in British museums for all humanity to share, we will have to agree to disagree.

another demonstration of the conservative movement’s allegiance to authoritarians

Matt Gaetz of Florida, Sen. Mike Lee of Utah, Donald Trump Jr.
and former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, traveled to El Salvador to cheer
the second inauguration of Nayib Bukele, the country’s authoritarian president.

This display of authoritarian affection comes right as
conservatives have been openly discussing the need for Trump
to mete out punishment against liberals — including executions

Senate Republican tantrum over Trump’s conviction

in response to a made-up conspiracy theory, for which Republicans have no proof,
several GOP senators have declared they will stop “cooperating” with Democratic legislation and nominations

Lee and nine other Senate Republicans will deliberately stand in the way of their institution doing
the people’s business because local prosecutors held a private citizen accountable for his crimes.

I do believe the El Salvadoran leader was democratically elected and had over an 80% approval rate. He took a country with the highest murder rate and made it one of the lowest and eliminated the criminal gangs

How could anyone vote for that or support that

Bukele is a huge problem for the cultural left because it shows that within the democratic framework the problems can be fixed if you use all the legal powers toward that, which shows that every time the problems of mass crime aren't fixed *that's done on purpose* which is kinda the point.

The left often chooses to let violent, street level criminality exist and flourish even if it would be 100% fixable within the liberal democratic framework of government, because of absurd nonsense about race and whatnot.

Bukele proves that solving problems far greater than those of democratic led cities, with less resources. It's the living proof the left CHOOSES the criminals over the law abiding citizens. So it has to be demonized.

It's Tuesday, and that means another GOP crime has been perpetuated against American citizens .

We call it money laundering, but MAGA calls it political funding.

Now the party of "Law & Order" and "Family Values" is normalizing crime.

GOP Gets INSTANT KARMA with MONEY LAUNDERING Indictment

Police officer stabbed during attack at far-right rally dies

https://news.sky.com/story/germany-k...snt-sf-twitter

An islamist terrorist from afghanistan attacked with a knife and killed a police officer, and they go with "stabbed during attack at far-right rally".

Down in the article, after ads, you can read that an Afghan "suspect" was shot and wounded. The "suspect" was on video stabbing everyone lol. Also because the police arrested the civilian who was trying to stop the terrorist before they dealt with the terrorist , as per video i put before ITT.

Largest pandemic funds fraud (240 millions) according to the FBI happened in Minnesota, most defendants are Somali immigrants (only 1 defendant name isn't Somalian, the founder of the whole operation apparently) .

They allegedly basically made up 200+ sites that were supposed to distribute food to poor children, they made up children list names and everything else, it was all only on paper

https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/us-at...ing-our-future

They even tried to sue for racist discrimination when the payments were suspended.
