Where does the bolded come from? All I get from the article in that regard is that the public wasn't informed at the time. If he kept it secret and no one else in government knew, I'd think they'd lead with that story.

There's a looming threat to our democracy that's bigger than Donald Trump

With so many election deniers in Congress, who needs a mob?

roughly a third of the current House and Senate — 171 members in all — are election deniers

Election deniers represent 36 states, red and blue alike. And most will be on the ballot again this November.

members of Congress have largely escaped having to answer for betraying American voters

If I managed to hack the SEC Twitter account I would have come up with something so much better. Something like "JP Morgan Chase is insolvent, but don't worry we have a committee coming up with a solution. PLEASE DON'T PANIC."

The chance of being caught would go astronomically higher with the damage in the markets that would have cost with that kind of news I suppose .

How have we not lit up Yemen (Houthis). We give them a vague last warning and they launch the biggest attack so far yesterday. Don't understand how we haven't launched 100 cruise missiles.

how many people did Yemen kill? Ill help, 0. and in fact they did everything they could to avoid hurting anyone.

now the USA is murdering Yemeni babies to support a genocide in Israel and so that shipping times improve.

Firing anti ship missiles and drones at military and civilian ships is an odd way to show you aren't trying to hurt anyone. You can't just sit back and hope they keep failing.

Victor, have you ever stopped to ask yourself if taking every situation and putting the worst possible spin on it for whomever you're hating on is a useful debate or conversation tactic? Rhetoric can be a useful or even humorous tool at times, but it loses all value when you use it every. ****ing. Post.

And the result is just endless stupid arguments about the words you use rather than the issues at hand, and I'm probably not the only one who long ago stopped reading the Ukraine and Israel threads as a result. Not only because of you, to be clear; you're just the one who does this most consistently, AINEC.

there is no personal attack in my post. I could have pointed out the obv about ntany but I refrained bc believe or not I am trying to avoid rancor.

the rest of it is factual. Yemen has killed 0 people. USA has killed many Yemenis and is now bombing their cities. USA has stated explicitly that this is to ensure global shipping times do not increase and so that ships can go to Israel.

Israel is currently on trial for genocide in the international courts. they had a hearing today! there is also a very comprehensive and accessible 80 some page document prepared by brilliant South African (and other countries) lawyers. so if you disbelief the genocide claims, then I would encourage you to read the document or find a good synopsis. I find you reasonable, or at least you present yourself that way. I think any reasonable person would be convinced if they saw what was in the document or watched some of the clips from the SA trial today.

Yemen itself has also repeatedly proclaimed that they are blocking shipping for a humanitarian goal (or you could call it political). that goal is to stop the genocide in Gaza.

when you look at all of those facts, there is really nothing rhetorical about my post. there is nothing even contentious or inflammatory other than I guess the fact is that real life is particularly nasty at the moment (or always).
