Obviously this isn't progressive economic policy, but pretty good case in point there is no reason to assume that immigrant communities will just neatly file into the progressive camp and support all their political objectives.

If you actually listen to the argument the city council is making, it is actually amusing they are arguing banning the pride flag now is being done to combat white supremacy, as I guess this is a slippery slope situation where once you allow one political motivated flags to be flown, it is checkmate and you have to allow them all, including white supremacy flags. Doesn't seem the most sincere argument IMO.

And also pretty good reason to not allow yourself to be riled up by current political rhetoric. The way things have shaken out with the last waves over say the last ~150yrs would almost make you think they've thought about it a little more than the complaining at any given time would suggest

Democratic candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. has been quoted saying that the CIA killed his uncle - John F. Kennedy.

he said on a radio program - "there is overwhelming evidence that the CIA was involved in his murder. I think it's beyond a reasonable doubt at this point."

he has also stated (2nd link) that he believes the CIA might try to assassinate him - he said, "I'm aware of that danger. I'm not stupid about it. I take precautions."

that makes me wonder - what precautions_____?________if the CIA really wanted to do this - there's no way he could stop them

Historically, they wait until a Kennedy is a president or running for president to do this. But given it happened to his father and uncle, I imagine he has put a decent amount of thought into his "stay alive" strategy

"They" didn't do anything when his other uncle, Teddy, was running for president, and that was when he was running against the incumbent of his own party.

That's cranky, because it is actually proven beyond reasonable doubt that Lee Oswald murdered President Kennedy and Patrolman Tippit, and there is no evidence that he conspired with anyone else to do so. RFK Jr sounds a few ham sandwiches short of a picnic, unfortunately. Probably did too many drugs as an overprivileged student.

The CIA certainly carries out assassinations, but it does it against foreign nationals and it uses drones. It doesn't have any other legal or organisational way of doing that.

Well, Ted sank his own presidential prospects along with Mary Jo Kopechne at Chappaquiddick, despite his longtime refusal to accept that evident fact, so...

freaky story about a missing submarine that was being used to tour wreckage from the Titanic

it is estimated that the tourists have only about 40 hours left of breathable air

a massive search involving the Navy and Coast Guard has so far been fruitless

the Titanic wreckage sits about 13,000 feet below the surface southeast of Newfoundland, Canada

They passed a bunch of good legislation, improved the courts, and handled the rebounding from the pandemic really well.

All in all it's been a great administration.

Seems unlikely that their cause of death will be lack of breathable air. They're probably already dead.
It is odd that they had days worth of air for a drive that I assume was only supposed to be a few hours though.

Days of air but they had to piss in a bottle if need happened. If they are alive they probably don't currently want to be.

This is an important point. As. much as we focus on the Supreme Court and DAs, possibly more important is the fact that Biden has appointed A LOT of progressive federal judges, and this is going to have a very lasting impact on law and order moving forward.

I think this is going to be a negative overall, as IMO they seem to be generally so permissive of nonpolitical and left wing motivated crime, but aggressively prosecute what they view as right wing motivated crime; and IMO this partisan approach to law and order will be a huge negative for the country for many reasons.

But obviously opinions may vary.
