I removed to arbitrary videos of of violence from the police brutality thread that were not related to the thread topic. I can't be bothered as a mod to watch videos of random violent assaults and see if the content adheres to 2+2 guidelines, I think the on-topic videos are plenty. Thus I have removed 3 posts (2 posts containing videos and one reply).

The videos were offered with a description, so I don't think the posters did anything "wrong" per se, beyond being a bit off-topic. Review of such videos is just not something I want to do.

Abt this thread: I stop in 1-5 days a week and read the last page....it is repetitive af

The thread shouldn't be closed tho bc the signal boosting boogeyman man stuff isn't coming from 10 people; it is totally out numbered

Just having this wasteland exist about crt has at the very least given ppl an awareness? of a whole alleged movement

The thread is, if course, at its core, the results of a sad dim witted man's internet echo chamber. But it goes far beyond that when someone learns of crt bc of this thread. We didn't all marry social workers

The whole entire thread was literally premised on the release of the report. If the complaint was that the thread was stuck on repeat, we now have somewhere for it to go.
At least for a couple of days even so that we can take stock of the winners and the losers and then close it again would be fine.

I already accepted that I lost when I said nobody would care by the end of August when in fact nobody cares already, so I got the timing wrong on that. I am fine with them unlocking it so you can pretend you were right about it and then they can close it again, but needs to be fast as this time around its maybe got 1-2 days before poofing entirely from conversation other than by you or people who hope its actual aliens.

The CRT thread reflects a fairly visible debate in American politics right now, with several people I've read predicting this will be an issue lifted towards the coming election by conservatives gunning for majorities in congress. Given that it seems like a topic that should stay for now.

I'd personally say the debate takes in a lot of takes from public discourse, complete with social media dumps. Which is also an increasing trend on the forum in general. Perhaps that is something that needs addressing on a general level, as opposed to a thread-specific level.
