That kind of makes it worse. Why do you think they went to the effort to find old pictures of (only) the Jewish team? What is the possible motivation for releasing their pictures to the world, other than trying to get them abused more, ostensibly to make a better story?

It’s not unheard of to tie old/new pictures to articles….
It was done commonly even when media was on paper u know .
That is why u often see the word « archive » under the pictures when it was an old one due probably to the lack of time to go on the premises to have actual live event pictures …

Given the context of this story and what is going on in the world, do you think it acceptable journalistic practice to use children like this? Does it bother you at all only the Jewish teams pictures were printed for the world to see?

Note that this is NY Post, so you dont have to defend them out of ideological solidarity. They aren't on your side anyways.

I don’t defend anything .
I object the concept of hey , they used that fake x picture because of y reason connected by an obscure plan .

It just a freakn picture used like millions of time before .

Effort? Things haven't been down in the morgue on microfiche for a few years now. And who is this "they" releasing pictures to the world? If I had to guess, I'd say it was the same people that publish pictures of high school sports millions of times a year.

Not surprising this part of your post didn't get much response. Of course the answer can't be that right-leaning media is blowing up a story that is of questionable national interest, it must be that the left-leaning media is ignoring it because...left-leaning media bad!

The American MSM doesn't appear to be touching the Iran whipping story yet, but Yahoo scalped this off the Telegraph, so some Western media that is less in bed with Islamofascism is reporting it.

It is actually a little amusing that the pro Hamas supporters are spending energy protesting the American MSM, especially the NYT. The MSM has actually mainly been treating Islamofascism, in both the West and the Middle East, very favorably.

So the MSM isn't reporting this story, except when it is, which all just proves whatever conspiracy nonsense Kelhus is babbling about today

Why do you think this should be a story in the US?

Upscale Mexican restaurant Calavera closes under weight of Oakland crime
fox headline that runs..

meanwhile, in reality, they are likely closing because they had to settle a lawsuit for stealing wages from 263 different employees in late 2022.. and since then they have had negative reviews and people have stopped going there. but the media runs press releases from corporations and police like they are the actual story.

actually, i guess they are closing because of crime, it's just they are the criminals.

I don't know about this woman specifically, but there have been a million articles in the MSM about anti-hijab sentiment and protests in Iran.

Well, I am sure the rest of Oakland is a safe, thriving place, other than this one poorly run business, and everyone else has great things to say about how safe it is.

Maybe the NAACP that issued the following statement will say it was all a mistake and offer a retraction.

"Oakland residents are sick and tired of our intolerable public safety crisis that overwhelmingly impacts minority communities. Murders, shootings, violent armed robberies, home invasions, car break-ins, sideshows, and highway shootouts have become a pervasive fixture of life in Oakland. We call on all elected leaders to unite and declare a state of emergency and bring together massive resources to address our public safety crisis."

It is always good to know exactly who we are fighting against, and what they believe. And what we risk to lose if we let the Islamists and progressives win.

Funny to join progressive with Islamist as a threat together when the « American conservative » political agenda looks like the talibans theocracy BS….

Scary what is happening in Canada were Liberals RCMP security arrests a reporter for assault but there is no assault for asking a question to the Deputy PM

Justin Trudeau has always believed that there is no freedom of the press and he should be able to license and determine who is media and who is not

Not a fan of Rebel News and particularly this yahoo who has been in conflict with politicians and officials from both parties before, but that's a pretty ridiculous exchange. Officer puts himself right in the reporter's path, inevitably gets bumped into, and then is strong-arming him, handcuffing him, and telling him he's under arrest for assault. LO****ingL.

That said, I don't know what's scary about this - are you actually thinking this was arranged by the PM or something?

Well this guy had many problems before on same legal grounds .
But more importantly do u support this kind of journalist « paparazzi » conduct ?

This time he wasn’t much at fault but I guess with his background he gets less leeway then before .

And it’s funny polievre use this incident to claim will defund the cbc , like this had anything to do with this ….

I am not onboard with what Rebel Media does as well but the CBC crosses the line as well. There is a history with Rebel Media and the Trudeau government as they had Rebel banned from a debate , sued Ezra over a book, and the Environment minister blocked them on X for his government account which the courts had it reversed.

When you arrested for simply asking a question and than the RCMP fabricates why and later releases with no charges .

Of course I have zero proof that the PM orchestrated this but he should call out the TCMP for what they did

Do I support this kind of journalism were a reporter waits for the deputy PM and asks her a good question why Canada has not classified a group as terrorists when most countries have. Reporters do this everyday from CNN & MSNBC and Fox and Canadian news agencies.

Please tell us what his background would allow him to be falsely arrested and detained for doing nothing ?

I believe it was the Leaders' Debates Commission that didn't allow them at the debate, unless there's another time this happened I'm not aware of. He was removed from a Conservative event as well, and likely others, as I alluded to already in my previous post. The issues with Rebel Media, and Menzies in particular, go far beyond "a history with Rebel Media and the Trudeau government".

No, he absolutely should not - that's not the role of the PM. Of course, there should definitely be government officials asking some pointed questions behind the scenes.

Your crazy if you think this is a justified arrest? I am not sure if Rebel Media is granted access and you know the Liberals will never allow them a question if they had access

I disagree freedom of the press is just to important. Though this type of behavior from the RCMP does not surprise me. Part of me think Freeland should have said something and said stop what your doing to the RCMP

That a cop overreacts, cuffs a reporter, and then releases him a little while later without even removing him from the scene? I think the cop was away out of line, but people in China and Russia would be thrilled if this was all they had to worry about. This is a pretty silly comparison.

My first inclination is to say the PM should *never* be making public statements about police actions, as they need to be independent. But there could be exceptions for extreme examples I haven't considered, so I'll just say that this doesn't rise to anywhere near that level IMO.
