In other news a man walking around with an AR-15 dropped a suspicious backpack in a park near the Capitol, and there is almost no news story at all, as whatever is going on obviously doesn't pigeonhole into any approved media narrative.

Yeah crimes down that’s why big box retailers are pulling out of regions
big box retailers are pulling out of regions because they over expanded and everyone uses the internet.. they are blaming crime because they know their shareholders will believe it, the media will run racebait cover, and it will deflect on their own poor executive management.

this narrative is like saying blockbuster went out of business because people kept returning the movies late.

No Walgreens are closing in my suburb. One on almost every corner on the main streets.

But yeah, stores are completely pulling out of extremely densely population areas en masse, leaving giant food/necessity deserts, and staying put in relatively sparsely populated suburbs because of over expansion; and not because the margins are so bad in the urban areas from shoplifting.

it's amusing you pick walgreens because they are the ones that have already admitted they lied about the shoplifting data. lol.

but yeah, multi billion dollar companies have been thwarted by a couple dozen shoplifters, it's not that Amazon has crushed them into obsolescence.

Shrinkage has increased across retail by 14 percent to a wopping total of 1.6 percent. It’s only up 7 percent compared to 2010 when it was 1.49 percent. You’re just a racist.

I didn't "choose" Walgreens. There is like 10 Walgreens within a 5 mile radius of my house. All doing just fine. I was giving a factual statement. There are also some Rite-Aids and CVS's if that is your poison.

No. I guess you have just been in Germany too long, or never lived in a big blue city. I have lived most of my life either within or in the burbs of a big blue city.

All the suburban drug stores are doing just fine, with a minimal amount of locked items. You drive into the urban areas with way higher population density and literally everything is locked, and a ton of drug stores have recently closed down. That is just the reality of living in a blue blue city, whether you want to accept it or not.

Facts say different than your anecdotes. But that’s not going to stop you I guess. I also obviously have friends and family in blue cities and I visit often. Not one has ever expressed this fear mongering.

You visit big blue cities and everything isn't in CVS/Walgrees/etc. isn't locked up or empty shelves? Where is this?

This actually reminds me a couple days ago I was in an Albertsons pretty deep into a suburb, and had to use the restroom and reflexively asked what the code was, and the person said there wasn't any. Of course you probably take it for granted that you dont need an employee to open restrooms for you, as they dont need to keep them locked to keep homeless people from doing drugs in them. Which is the norm here.

I said they aren’t fear mongering about shoplifters forcing store closures. I don’t remember how many of which items were locked up. I’ve shown you that shrinkage is barely different than the past decade’s average so I don’t know what else there is to discuss.

btw the "big blue city" thing is so dumb.. i live in a 1million RED metro, all of the same things dunyain hates are here.

it's ok to just say you hate cities. you dont have to try and shove "democrats are evil" into everything

And if you live in a metro area, you also know that Kelhus routinely exaggerates the magnitude of urban problems.

So in Vermont a white male allegedly shot 3 Palestinians last night, and there is barely any news story. If you search hard enough you can find limited reporting, but you really have to search.

I even checked Al Jazeera and couldn't find anything on the front page. You would think this would be major front page news. Very weird, and I actually have no idea what is going on that this is such a non story.

maybe, just maybe, the American media does not support Palestinians. do you think this story is getting any play in Israel right now?

LOL.

It is on the front page of CNN with a picture of the three Palestinians.

https://www.cnn.com/2023/11/26/us/pa...day/index.html

It is also one of the featured articles on the NYT website.

It has been reported on in one form or another by almost every major U.S. news publication. I was already aware of this story, but when I typed "Vermont man kills Palestinians" into a Google search, I immediately found articles by CNN, the NYT, the Washington Post, the LA Times, CNBC, NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox News, the AP, Reuters, Bloomberg, the WSJ, USA Today, Newsweek, Time, the BBC, the Guardian, and Al Jazeera.

That's fine, but your lack of awareness of this story isn't the fault of the MSM.

I heard about it from twitter.

I went to CNN to check bc a lot of stuff is "on the front page" but no one really cares or talks about it. theres an ad for HBO Max taking up half the screen so I dunno.

I doubt the talk shows are making a big deal of it and theres not gonna be a bunch of op eds. now, imagine 3 Jewish people were shot by an Arab or Muslim in Vermont. that **** would be non stop on TV and news for weeks.

- It's not on the front page.
- Well, ok, maybe it is on the front page. But there's also an ad on the front page and it's not on talk shows.

In b4, well maybe, OK, it is on talk shows, just not the ones I watch. Not sure who the spiritual successor to Jerry Springer is, Vic, but doubt you'll find current events there.

ok, that story appears as soon as the ad disappers. not bad for coverage! still, Jewish people getting hurt would cause a lot more news and outrage. dont forget that for all these people whine about anti-semitism, the only people hurt in USA were Arabs including an 8 year old boy stabbed to death bc the media boosted the Israeli fake news about a day of Jihad or whatever.

would 3 Jewish people getting shot be a bigger deal?

the media reports on a lot of stuff. but some stuff they really promote and make a big deal of.

1200 Israelis die? you wont hear the end of it. 1200 Gazans or Ukrainians or Russians die? it maybe gets a story and then is forgotten about. but we still hear about 10/7.
