I just want to say, this dude does not have a "resign" button (and with good reason). I will resign when I hang a piece or something, lagtight played that game to the death, and very nearly managed to get himself stalemated for a draw that never looked on. Props to the man.

"Never give up, never surrender."

Old saying:

"The Old Guard dies; it never surrenders.'

As a juxtaposition to that, in that very game, I was very close to taking a draw via perpetual check and even mentioned it in the chat. I would have been happy with 1 draw in 10 games, but I was just in such a good (but not locked!) position in that endgame that I felt the need to persevere.

Good decision to play for the win. Avoiding the perpetual required you to allow your king to be exposed to an attack, but you defended well and earned a well deserved victory.

edit: Now that play time is over, we can return to the somber task of insulting each other here in the Politics Forum.

I'm struggling to see the dynamic here, are you like two divorcees who meet up for the occasional ****?

I mean, it's not an unreasonable evaluation.

You know the woman I’ve criticized the most over Twitter? Sarah Palin. No one cared. I couldn’t stand Palin when she ran for the vice presidency and was a political pundit. Anytime someone tweeted me something I considered stupid, I responded by calling them a “Palinite.” This went on for several years. I wrote a column for the Huffington Post shredding Palin. No one cared. No one called me sexist. Deadspin didn’t use my criticism of Palin as proof of my rampant misogyny.

There’s a certain species of women who can’t be criticized publicly. Palin isn’t part of that group. What’s different about her? Oh, she’s not a feminist icon. She’s not liberal. This whole push for a criticism-free safe space for women is about protecting woke women. It’s part of the culture war to disrupt the patriarchy with a liberal matriarchy.
