Lori Loughlin is set to plead guilty. Serve 2 months in jail and pay a $150,000 fine.

This all seems a bit excessive to me. The whole thing is unsavory and shows that all systems across the country are unfair and broken.

It also shows the stupidity of these people. They could have made substantial donations direct to the colleges and got their kids to the front of the list!

But, jail time for helping your less than intelligent child have a better life, and you have the means to do it?

No if she admitted what she did and did not waste the courts time she would be getting probation.

Id personally like to see her in a jumpsuit picking up garbage along the freways 8 hours a day for 6 months

Lori is a kind of celebrity so she will get more attention. I'm too lazy to look it up myself, but what happened with the people at the schools who participated? I'm fine with throwing the book at everyone involved.

I'm pretty amazed that some people are wringing their hands at the prospect of Lori Loughlin being punished. What these people did is pretty disgusting, and it doesn't suddenly become OK just because they were doing it for the benefit of their children.

Saying that you would do anything for your kids doesn't mean that you throw your ethics out the window. Try setting an example for your kids.

I actually think the Loughlin thing was WAY overblown by the media and she is getting so much heat so a lot of people much more powerful than her can quietly slip away.

She committed a crime and now she's going to jail. If she pled guilty earlier, she could've gotten less like Felicity Huffman. She is rich and famous and will be fine. Hollywood loves a comeback so all she has to do is express regret and remorse (even if it's fake and she's an actor so she can fake it) and will get a second life. Martha Stewart's career did fine after she got out of prison.

Gangster Capitalism podcast had a good series on this whole thing. Basically the guy who was the ringleader became an FBI informant and got all of these idiots to admit their guilt on the phone. The phone conversations they had are cringeworthy.

Yeah, I get that. But she is just getting way too much attention from the justice department, and the media, for this.

We are all talking about Lori Laughlin getting her daughter into USC and cheerleading her going to jail for it; and meanwhile Jeffrey Epstein's pimp is just walking around the world, and noone cares.

As far as I am concerned, this is just another example of how the media conditions us as to what we should be caring about, for their own ends.

And if it makes you feel better DailyMail has spent a lot of time covering Lori Laughlin.

I don't think anyone is really outraged over Aunt Becky going to jail for two months. Just felt it is bogus and it is a story with national headlines. The original title of this post was, "Our National Nightmare is Almost Over (Lori Loughlin).", then the moderators changed it. Think the original title means that although corruption is a serious issue, the attention this story is getting is a bit much and was designed for a more light hearted discussion than some of the COVID, Trump, Flynn and Ahmaud Arbery discussions.
