Here, let me help you people out. The barbie movie beyond just being great corporate branding also has overt feminist discourse (like it's an imaginary land that inverts the concept of patriarchy) and sometimes makes crazed conservatives mad - which is pretty hilarious - and so at some level posting that he went to barbie could be thought of as implicit support for some vague feminist message. Mostly it is that he took his son to see the in movie of the day. So if you want to call that "identity politics", then, uh, sure, but that's about the best you are getting on this one.
