They certainly aren't the ones directing Western foreign policy. Although it is interesting to note the Trump administration was probably the closest the US has gotten to this theory of mind. And it probably isn't an accident his administration seemed to relate much better with Russia and third world dictators than our Western allies.

at least in the case of the civilians, it is clear they did not want them and offered them back the day after the attack. perhaps they took civilians as human shields to allow safe return to Gaza. we all saw how that worked out and Israeli helicopters incinerated Hamas and civilians alike.
Truly a sick, depraved individual.

Israel is not the only country with special laws based on ethnicity though. I find 17 countries that have something like it, though of those probably only Israel/Jews and Armenian are thought of as ethnicities here.

Yeah because Jews have been historically persecuted and the victims of genocide. All about the context innit?

I was responding to your post asserting that Israel was in no way an ethnostate and now you're saying yeah, they are an ethnostate and that's fine. I'm not really criticizing either position, I'm just posting some reason and facts and you can't even follow your own argument.

I didn't assert any such thing, Luciom did. My point was that ethnostate seems to be used as a slur against Israel, the world's one Jewish state.

Israel isn’t an ethnostate.

Arguing that point is moronic.

No no no no. This is you saying Israel is not an ethnostate. You are saying either they aren't or the term is meaningless. You, not Lucium, saying that. And now you're saying something different.

Their politics are laughably hypocritical, like all communist elitists, considering their financial status and capitalist tendencies. That said music wise, their tunes are pretty kickass.

The term is used as a slur against Israel. I don't regard it as an ethnostate due to the right to return, due to the context.

Israel is an ethnistate under normal (bad, wrong) definitions, such as using American race labels.

but if it is, then south Korea , ireland, Spain and mamy others are as well so no argument can exist denying Israel right to be an ethnostate unless it is used against all others as well with the same intensity and disgust and criticism

You do realize you’re making up propaganda. A child is defined by age in legal terms. Often we break that legal protection when the child does something society really doesn’t like. They are still children. They can be hostages and criminals. Commiting a crime doesn’t mean you are now supposed to go to some occupiers jail

Israel won’t let black/African Jews in while they let non religious but ethnically Jewish people

You’re just wrong. Feel free to argue against

A 16 year old stabbing people didn’t “do something society doesn’t like.” They’re a violent criminal. Sure as hell aren’t a hostage.

I’m wrong?? How many non Jews are citizens in Israel?? That’s all I really need answered.

There's discrimination of course, but not only did Israel allow Black/African Jews they went to Ethiopia and Sudan in the middle of a war and picked up 22 thousand of them.

I had never heard this, but just saw it when I went to get the link for Operation Solomon etc.

Israel paid Morocco per person for 97000 Jewish emigrees in 1961.

I don't want to give the impression that things were ok for Jews in ME countries at the time, but it is not true that Jews were universally expelled. Iraq initially forbade Jews from leaving (much like the USSR did until the 80s), Israel helped thousands of Jews leave and then when Iraq allowed emigration Israel did airlifts of 130000 Iraqi Jews from 1951-1952.

Kelhus may well have not known this. I didn't.

For the most part Jews wanted to leave other ME countries after Israel formed (Iran being the biggest exception) and Israel definitely wanted the Jewish immigration.

And I think that's all fine, and even noble, as long as the rights of other people aren't trampled.

It's a fascinating read.

Quote:

"There are competing accounts of exactly what Mohammed V did or did not do for the Moroccan Jewish community" during the Holocaust.[8] However, "though a subject of debate, most scholars stress the benevolence of Mohammed V toward the Jews" during the Vichy era.[9] Mohammed reportedly refused to sign off on efforts by Vichy officials to impose anti-Jewish legislation upon Morocco and deport the country's 250,000 Jews to their deaths in Nazi concentration camps and extermination camps in Europe.[10] The sultan's stand was "based as much on the insult the Vichy diktats posed to his claim of sovereignty over all his subjects, including the Jews, as on his humanitarian instincts."[10] Partial Nazi race measures were enacted in Morocco over Mohammed's objection,[10] and Mohammed did sign, under the instructions of Vichy officials, two decrees that barred Jews from certain schools and positions.[11]

Nevertheless, Mohammed is highly esteemed by Moroccan Jews who credit him for protecting their community from the Nazi and Vichy French government,[8] and Mohammed V has been honored by Jewish organizations for his role in protecting his Jewish subjects during the Holocaust.[12] Some historians maintain that Mohammed's anti-Nazi role has been exaggerated; historian Michel Abitol writes that while Mohammed V was compelled by Vichy officials to sign the anti-Jewish dahirs, "he was more passive than Moncef Bay (ruler of Tunisia during the Second World War) in that he did not take any side and did not engage in any public act that could be interpreted as a rejection of Vichy's policy."[11]

As always, great work mods, letting a racist propagandist spread dogshit lies during the ongoing conflict in Palestine was a good call.

Hardly anyone really reads anyone else's posts so it doesn't matter much one way or another, but for anyone actually reading it's been educational which is something that can happen because of free speech.
