I am wondering if violence against women in the western world is a result of opression and frustration from men who are not treated with respect but are made to work much harder and more difficult jobs than anyone else.

Not sure now you got that. Bills were introduced to repeal the selective service act and make it gender neutral and the majority male congress rejected them both times. Men want to fight the wars they start. They just also want to whine about it at the same time apparently.
