I'd take a guess that we are already in a true crisis, we just don't see it yet. Just give exponential growth a couple of weeks to see how bad he's already fubar'ed us. Of course, he could/will exacerbate the situation even more down the line.

Trump looked bad (tired and didnt take questions) and of course bragged again about his response...but he did propose some measures that seemed to calm Wall Street. Futures were down 200 or so but are up now 400 plus.
The CDC and other experts are talking this seriously with the testing. They realize this isn't something they can hide. Better for everyone, health and business, to get the testing done and bite the bullet, do what we need to do.
So 4 or so Reps and Cruz in quarantine just from CPAC. I dont think we see any political rallies for a long time. Trump has nothing scheduled.

If the virus spreads to as little as just a percent or so of the population i struggle a bit to see how ppl that are old or have an underlying condition wont be in full panic mode. U go to the gym or the store and suddenly u might have a russian roulette going on for the next three weeks? Like 5-15p chance of dying for these groups? That is actually a bit insane if u think about it.
i can't believe recession odds are nowhere near 100%.......... this is like some harsh winter storm but it'll last a whole 6 months... parking spots are getting easier to find every single day in areas where it's a pain almost all the prime time........ basic peter lynch stuff. look around you. the recession is here. consumer spending has been surprisingly robust. you think that will continue to prop things up.
likewise, trump re-election odds were sitting at 57% recently and wouldn't budge. and then the last 2 days they've come off big time. this stuff seems highly predictable........ i think trump is toast, but i could be wrong.

Trump and his economic team will provide more detail about their package on Tuesday. But Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) and her fellow House Democrats are drafting their own stimulus package to help stave off a coronavirus-related recession during this critical election year.
That Democratic package is unlikely to include a payroll tax cut, which she described as “tax cuts for major corporations.”
Instead, it is expected to include paid sick leave for workers who need to self-quarantine due to the coronavirus; enhanced unemployment insurance for those who lose their jobs from the economic impact related to the epidemic; and free coronavirus testing to help control its spread.

The reason I am tweeting this: I have been flu-sick unwell for the past week and now I am finding out there are people I was in direct contact with who were in direct contact with the infected.
