It amazes me how dumb and stupid some politicians can be when they believe they can pull off this kind of s**t and get away with it. It reminds me of the bromide: "A hard d**k has no conscious."

Congressman Gaetz is supposed to be getting married to a 26-year-old woman who he has referred to as his true love. I'm sure she is confident her beau will always be faithful and true to his marriage vows.

That is hilarious! The liberals don't need to lift a finger to "take him down" since he is doing such an excellent job of taking himself down. It's also interesting that not a single Republican is lifting a finger (or uttering a word) in defense of Mr. Gaetz. Where are your friends when you really need them?

I don't think he has participated much in any successful legislation efforts, so the claims about being a threat to "liberals" seems exaggerated. To them he has more than likely been a cash-cow that ensures donations.

But of course his role as a firebrand for Trumpism has been substantial, but I fail to see how that makes him much different from the vast majority of the GOP establishment. The GOP party platform in 2020 was pretty much "do what Trump wants".

People like him have been treating governing as a performance art. Make speeches, go on the news, own the libs. Actual legislating? Nah. Trying to improve people's lives? Nah.

My favorite was one of his defenses “The last time I had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old, I was 17". For a guy who basically represents self described evangelical christians, he doesn't even seem literate in their language. Kind of puts all those "Dems need to do XYZ to appeal to evangelicals" articles unto context.

He is done. I would bet his 'buddy' has evidence of more than one girl 17 or younger they paid to spend time with them. Flights, gifts,, other.

These girls on Sugar Daddy sites are not there for friendship. It is entirely based on 'Pay to Play'.

Statutory 10 year minimum if a single one of them is 17 or below.

That will be the minimum deal the Prosecution will offer to not chase 'life'.

The age of consent varies from state to state. Not all 17 year olds are considered minors when it comes to having sex I guess. Just depends on where you live. The crazy thing to me is that it's a ridiculous low 16 in a place like Massachusetts, and 18 in a place like Florida.
I highly doubt Gaetz will see any jail time. The guy is a conservative white guy living in Florida, let's not forget.
