Most people don't live in a single decade, which is exactly why you wanted to come of age then. People who got out of college and bought their houses in the late 70s or early 80s are at a massive economic advantage to people at that same stage of their lives now and who are completely unable to conceive of a way they could make their finances work and own a house in just about any major city in the US, and those same older people are mostly still alive and experiencing the conveniences and advances of today from a much more privileged standpoint.

It's going to depend on when. Remember we had inflation of 20%+ for a while

I did 'come of age' then. It was mixed but I did very well from it.

But I'm well aware of how extremely privileged I was (free college with a grant to live on for example) - it was so awful for so many though. Just no comparison to today.

We can do the same thing with a phone 20 years ago vs a phone today. How much would a phone, GPS, handheld computer, handheld gaming system, video player, music player and camera all-in-one with that clear of a color screen and memory to store all phone do today cost 20 years ago and how much does it cost today?
Do you think the biggest impacts on ones quality of life are features on a car or gadgets?

What's the problem? It seems like official White House communications would be considered pretty on-topic mainstream political content. It's quite the statement that, for example, juan valdez can post Andy Ngo tweets but we can't have tweets from the President of the United States auto-posted here.

You (and everyone) are welcome to embed or link any Trump tweets you want to discuss or think are worth posting. I just don't think a bot posting every single one is worth it. There's a big difference in volume between the two scenarios you are comparing.

A difficult standard when any one tweet is too stupid to be worth discussing but the volume of the inanity might be.

This thread is already awful. The Trump bot would make it way worse than awful.

I think anyone who posts 3 links or tweets in a month without saying in that post why they are posting it should be given a week off from posting in the thread.

Trump bot is WOAT, but there are posters in here that do that occasionally and it drives me bananas.

The problem with taking the middle class form 1980 and today is that it assumes that everyone in the middle class in 1980 is still in the middle class today. We know this is not true.
it’s hard to get poorer when you are already poor and got almost 0$ ....

I think this derail is over. Can we just agree this was an incredible stupid claim or wildly exaggerated:
If you think when over 70% of American living paycheck by paycheck means the economy working in favor of more than half the population, I just cant help you there ..
So yeah ok I’m stupid .

Precisely this. It is the volume, the repetition, the constant, never-ending hammering of bullshit upon bullshit upon bullshit that will never be captured here in any other way. It's the only way to accurately present what 80 million followers are exposed to every single day from the President. It is having an effect. It is historical. This is the Trump thread in a politics foorum.

I think he was a local reporter for that fox12 station.
Plenty of people recognized him and told him to **** off by name.
I'm guess he had previously "misrepresented" some views or events in the past. At least from the local QAnon tard perspective.

Then maybe washoe shouldn’t claim the poor are getting poorer.

I do have to disagree with you. America’s poor haven’t seen what being poor is for a very long time. It can get way worse.

This is nonsense.

Everything can get worse just like everything can get better but to claim that people aren't poor in America is just a meme.

This is a good troll, joe. You must be feeling better now. Was it the hydro or the lysol?

juan valdez would be extremely disappointed in you though, if not for all his outrage being fake.
