We could fill every forum on this site w/plenty more to spare with reposts of comments from the R sites making racist remarks about Obama--starting from before he was even Inaugurated--hoping he'd get 'MLK'd', watermelon/newport/fried chicken 'jokes', fumigating the WH, stealing the furniture etc and tons more horrid stuff. Just out of curiosity did you somehow miss all of that stuff for 8+yrs??

So ya I think it's a pretty fair observation. Tell ya what--go google Obama Breitbart or just about any of those places and head on down to the comments section and see for yourself : )

Maybe I am wrong but it seemed like this conversation started with how the main stream media handled the first ladies and now we are talking about what people way out on the wings are sayings.

wiild literally has to follow you around and correct everything false you try and pass off as legit..

why in the world would anyone believe you or any conservative here have any desire for good faith.

tan suit? coffee salute? im assuming you just ignored all of the miniscule things the GOP attacked obama for on a daily basis as "the worst thing a president has ever done."

Part of me thinks this is true. However...there are people on the conservative/right that I think are much more insane than their counterparts on the left. (This is mostly my judgement from what I read here)

So, while I think most liberals won't argue in good faith, I think the conservatives have sufficient nutjobs to drown out any reasonable discourse. Just my take on it.

With all of the information available to us today, you can find just about anything somewhere to support your point of view. That's why your selective outrage and cherry-picking of various news reports doesn't mean much.

I'm comfortable with myself and beliefs, and am eagerly awaiting the election in 2020.

The conspiracy fringe side of the right(it's not exclusive to the right) and the mainstream right have basically merged into 1 in recent years. This is why you can get the basic R message at Fox and Infowars or r/conspiracy. And talking to everyday R supporters out in the wild yields the same conclusion. I can think of several people I know(that have always voted republican) that would have lol'd at just about every conspiracy ~30yrs ago and called you crazy--and they talk about say the birther thing like it's nothing. I'm not sure they can even pinpoint exactly when they changed : )

Way out in the wings has become the norm--to a much greater degree than it ever was back in the day. This is how you see little old ladies running around with giant beadazzled cardboard Qs hanging around their necks.

I'd like to hear some theories why trump is now the favorite. I am going to list a few myself, but I'd like feedback on why you think they are right/wrong and maybe even add your own.

bettors are now thinking that:
a. the whole dem field is weak if bernie is still a thing
b. the front runner for the dem "quid pro joe" is guilty of a serious crime voters won't like
c. voters don't like dems hail mary attempt to undo our democracy by attempting to overthrow our democracy via the impeachment
d. the economy is too damn strong right now
e. there are too many economic signs showing increased economic growth in our future after 8 years of the slowest economic recovery we have ever had because of an anti-growth president
f. dems have lost the plot and have no idea what most Americans want anymore
g. trump will railroad the top 3 dems (bernie, beth or biden) in a debate
h. the china deal will get done before the election making the economy even stronger
i. the trade deals with all countries not china have been a big long-term boost to our economy
j. voters are tired of watching dem debates where candidates are spending too much time talking about how evil trump and other general statements that aren't backed up by facts or logic

Republican wins Presidential Election -120
Democrat wins Presidential Election +100

Donald Trump wins Presidential Election -130
Field wins Presidential Election +110
One of the problems I see is that the Democrat supporters don't know who they want to be the nominee. At the beginning they were all over Warren to be the candidate and now they can't choose between Biden or Sanders knowing that both choices are weak and uninspiring. If the odds of a republican/trump win are over 50% and with the polling so far off at the last election it would surely be closer to over 60% chance that the republicans/trump will win.

The current GOP president is retweeting Qanon believers on Twitter, that is really "enough said".

The fringe didn't just become mainstream, it won the US presidential election.

Maybe there's more to this Russia thing than we were led to believe.

Trump Deutsche Bank Loans Underwritten By Russian State-Owned Bank, Whistleblower Told FBI

Deutsche Bank’s loans to Donald Trump were underwritten by Russian state-owned VTB Bank, according to the whistleblower whose collection of thousands of bank documents and internal communications have captured the recent attention of federal investigators.

Mods, there has been an investigation on trump's involvement in russia that has been going on for years where one side has a huge amount at stake and nothing has come from it. Are you going to move maxcut's post to the conspiracy theory thread or do you want me to start talking about how joe biden is bigfoot ITT?

It is just overplayed nonsense and is old. It isn't like this is a super slow news day either. The military took action and killed Iran's military leader. Dem's oh so predictable said the guy was a brutal murderer and just because our intelligence committee said the guy was an imminent threat to the US we still think trump was acting recklessly.

Yeah, I'm super upset that despite dems best efforts for what is coming on 4 years to overthrow the will of the people we still have a president who is making America better for everyone.

It seems about the same tbph.
But I think people should be allowed to talk about how Trump is a Russian agent as much as they want and come up with creative ways for how all foriegn policy actions from Trump benefit Russia.

Yeah I've got nothing.
I couldn't say whether Trump is acting recklessly (I would tend to doubt it), whether the attack was justified, or whether it is pure theater and nothing actually happened either.

But it does seem like the democrats (like actual democrats not 2p2 posters although some of them too) have now become the bigger pro-intelligence/CIA sycophants than the GOP--if that were even possible. So I think bahbah is right about that. Not sure what I am supposed to comment on really.

I just thought you might want to advise him on the dubious nature of trusting intel reports, like you did for me yesterday. That's all.

Good idea.
Bahbah,
Just because the intelligence community says something, it doesn't make it so. They lie all the time, just like the media and presidents and other politicians.
