The only thing changed in the constitution was to have separate electoral college votes for Pres and VP - nothing saying they have to have been together on the same ticket. But if they want it on the ballot the convention is plenty of time. The real thing to worry about is if one of the candidates dies between the convention and the general election - with guys this old, it's a serious possibility for either Trump or Biden.

Should have really read the relevant chapter of "How to beat low stakes nlhe games" by David Sklansky, then you would have known to pump it pre with JJ, and stack off on an AKQ flop. Or limp with KK and stack off on a 2-4-7 two-tone flop. Or other nuggets of wisdom from the Sklansk-meister.
