I have every confidence that Carlin's comedy would be well-received by a wide range of people today, including people on the far left.

If he's not a liberal, a conservative or a centrist then what kinds of ideas does he have? Is it possible to have ideas that exist outside of that range of bullshit and just what does horseshoe theory mean exactly?
Here is my take on the horseshoe idea: liberals are smarter but conservatives understand more. Some of this is due to the divide between idealism vs realism and some of it is due to the fact that nowadays conservatives are more distrustful of mainstream media. If you are smart and gain some understanding it's hard to stay on the left, and you can't be on the right either.

Carlin stopped voting after McGovern lost because he became disenchanted with the process lol.

Kelhus and Luckbox never seem to be able to explain what they mean by "political correctness" or "identity politics" but I don't think George would be going around openly mocking LGBT people or calling Muslims terrorists or whatever exactly they think would make the "woke" crowd despise him.

Pretty sure I've said recently that muslims aren't the terrorists and that lesbians are smarter than heterosexual women. Don't you know what I actually think at this point? Or I guess you're saying that Carlin wouldn't be saying bad things about them.
Yeah I agree. I think the woke crowd would despise him because George Carlin (and many of the best commedians) make fun of the groupthink that the woke crowd loves. Like half of comedy is making fun of groupthink.
And I'm pretty sure things like "conspiracies aren't true and the mainstream media is your friend" isn't something that would come from his mouth.
Like here is my favorite post from the democratic debate thread on unstuck

I realize that this isn't representive of the actual left, but there is enough of it in the woke crowd that contarians like Carlin I can't imagine would be super well received. I think it's great you keep trying to claim him though.

You are right, he wouldnt say that because itd be a really weird thing to say. He likely would ignore conspiracies about the mainstream media or whatever you constantly talk about because every sane adult ignores them.

Thinking that Carlin doesn't have a media critique that I'll be able to find seems real dangerous for you. Perhaps you should reconsider your position.
Here we go. Posting it before I watch it for the purposes of intellectual honesty in case he says the media is fantastic or something and I might have a second heart about disproving myself. Although I'm going to guess he doesn't. And since I haven't watched it maybe it's more on politicians and not the media..idk. Speech appears to be to the media and not about the media.

I did not say he did not have a media critique. Reasonable people can and do critique the media. I said he wouldn't believe in whatever conspiracy related nonsense you are talking about with "conspiracies aren't true and the mainstream media is your friend"

That was a quote (or paraphrase) from Mr. Wookie. My statement concerned whether Carlin would agree or disagree with that statement and how his answer would jive with today's "woke" left.

And you think conspiracy theories are created by right wingers to get right wing people to not vote.

Here is one. You can figure out if he is using sarcasm or not

And another

"Question everything" is not a "woke left" idea because--given that they are "woke" they already have the answers because of how smart they are.

Is “Satan” a euphemism for the Illuminati or is the literal Biblical Satan begins these conspiracies?

This isn't the thread for that and Fly only brought it up to attack me. And it only comes from a video where I explicitly stated that I don't agree with everything the creator of said video has to say.
Most of my thoughts on religious type issues that I've written on 2p2 can be found here, scrolling down some, and reading that article on materialism that I posted. Clearly I don't believe in materialism but beyond that is a can of worms. What Debora discusses some in that video is the duality between good/evil and I think when she says it's the devil at the top of pyramid she means that literally. But the proper metaphor might be something like the popular image of an angel on one shoulder and the [forces of evil] on another, whispering into people's ears--with those who control this world listening to one voice a bit more than the other.

Luckbox,

Is there or is there not a political solution to our troubled evolution?

I'm marking you down as "literally believes the Biblical Satan is controlling the world" until you can come up with a more coherent interpretation.

Maybe a good starting point would be for you to expound upon on specific examples of the "outrage machine/SJWism/media driven stuff" that have you ruffled.

LOL I have no idea why these dudes, who are GLEEFUL when it comes to lying about the El Paso shooter or whatever, can't summon that same energy to just lie here.

But Luckbox, Mommy and Daddy's Special Little Guy, literally believes in the devil lol. The ****ing devil!

Well as far as materialism vs immaterialism goes, materialism doesn't really have a leg to stand on and that poses certain questions about the nature of reality. We can't separate mind from matter and it's a big problem--ultimately only one can be real. I've never denied that the world isn't a crazy place but I don't know about the devil. Certainly the ruling class would seem to enjoy putting out the idea that they believe. Perhaps it's all a psy-op?
