Hue, just admit that he literally did the complete opposite of what you (or your tweet) accused he did and let’s move on.

Freebird, he said you can only get away with that in the panhandle. It sounds like he was talking about yelling like a moron.

I really dont think Trump has actively disapproved of just about anything his mob has shouted or chanted.

He's the microphone

The reason his presence is disturbing to his detractors is two fold:

1) Social media has had a staggering effect on the collective human psyche and introduced a wide variety of new dynamics as well. The effects are scary. Suicide rates in children have jumped. Radicalization of thought in anyone open to it is both terrifying and facilitated by this new age of hyper data mining and targeted ads in the pursuit of profit. We can select what we consume and it's run on an infinite feedback loop that reinforces what and how we think. So we effectively reinforce flawed thinking and distance ourselves from the possibility of improvement and optimization. The close minded's views become even more narrow...

It's not all bad obv but I could go on for hours talking about this (I am not an authority on the subject, do not want to imply I am here, it's just my observation)

Trump is the first political figure in our history to reign supreme on social media and I think we all agree he's an outlier in personality and demeanor, so combine his volatility with social media's volatility, and there's cause for serious concern and that's probably a massive understatement

2) He doesn't speak out in any demonstrable way against some really ****ed up and grotesque things that have gone on. There's an endless supply of quotes to support that notion, and some of the public who support him have latched onto his words as if it were some nod of approval to think in the reprehensible and indefensible ways they choose to think. Whether it's intentional or not has no bearing on the fact that his words actually do matter. And bizarrely, it doesn't even matter if his words are incoherent and/or contradictory from one sentence to another!

The disproportionate attention leads to disproportionate sentiment that "he" makes behavior X or thought Y acceptable, moral, and even necessary. That is mortifying if it turns a latent racist into an overt one, and an overt racist into a radical minded mass murderer. It makes people feel unsafe no matter where they are, which is a disproportionate psychological effect in itself...

Remember when a McCain supporter called Obama a Muslim on the microphone and McCain took the mic back and said "no, no, that's not OK and it's not true" or something to that effect?

We can debate the merits of McCain's past another time, but that was a commendable act that in a better world would just be expected, especially of a man in pursuit of high office, but here we are...

The lurid nature of how the office is now represented has seriously eroded my faith in humanity and my sense of humor

LOL. That's some high level gaslighting you've got going on there.

I guess if you're raised by wolves, maybe you could reach that conclusion. But it would have to have been some particular stupid wolves.

Let's not forget that at his rallies he has, on several occasions, advocated for violence. Next you're going to tell me that when he was talking about how "Maybe those second amendment people" can do something about Hillary he was talking about them getting together for a peaceful protest.

The moron suggested ICE should shoot the illegal immigrants and trump said he would never allow them to shoot at the illegal immigrants. I’m not sure how much more he can disapprove of something.

  • he laughs
  • he says "that's only in the panhandle you can get away with that"
  • the crowd erupts into laughter and cheering. he smiles and pauses for the crowd

what a rebuffing

Really? Not sure?

Think really hard. Maybe after a couple hours you'll come up with at least one thing he could have said or done that would have conveyed even stronger disapproval.

I know it's a tough ask, but I really think you have it in you.

**** it. If there is still room I’d like to jump on the bandwagon of believing that trump saying he will never allow border security to shoot illegal immigrants means he supports the idea of border security shooting illegal immigrants.

Checking in with Trump after two mass shootings

Oh cool, it's the media's fault. They have blood on their hands and the need to start reporting "fairly". This same old shtick. Get a new act dumbass

Going to guess the background checks tied to "immigration reform" means the restrictionist immigration plan of cutting off nearly all immigration in exchange for background checks that are broadly popular. More of the same hostage taking by the extreme minority in order to get what they want. Which is either no background checks, which they're OK with, so it's fine to poison pill or hard-line immigration. It's a win win.

Interesting that it's just "the Media" and not "the LIBERAL MEDIA" this time. Maybe all of this extreme rhetoric on social media is due to the mean SJWs, and we wouldn't have such problems if all just listened to the WH instead (at least when the R's are in office...)

Tough to say if trump or the media deserves more blame for murders in this country. Needless to say neither deserves that much blame.

Have you heard many politicians say they want a "plan of cutting off nearly all immigration". I haven't heard any of them say anything like that, but maybe I'm looking in the wrong places (cnn, msnbc, etc).

Nearly all is a bit of hyperbole

Quote:
A group of Senate Republicans is moving to slash legal immigration, a plan designed to undercut a proposal by White House adviser Jared Kushner to boost the number of migrant workers admitted into the country.

Sens. Tom Cotton of Arkansas, David Perdue of Georgia and Josh Hawley of Missouri, key allies of President Donald Trump on Capitol Hill, will introduce a bill Wednesday that would favor admitting skilled workers and their immediate family members but cut by half the number of legal immigrants, according to officials close to the process.
https://www.politico.com/story/2019/...n-plan-1264196

The reality is no immigration plan is going anywhere. The GOP is too scattered to come up with something that can get through. Trump just wants to talk about immigration constantly because he thinks it's a winner for him and tying it to background checks is just another way to keep things hostage to things he wants to talk about.

What was that phrase that everyone turned into a joke? "Today is the day Trump became President?" or what was that other thing, we were all waiting for Trump to pivot or whatever?

Those weren't Trumps words and he'll reverse himself soon enough.
He said we need to do more about preventing these types of crimes but he also had previously defunded a large chunk of the domestic counter terrorism program.

good for him. trumps gravelly, sinister tone during rallies when he says "it's an invasion!" "they dont want me to use that word. invasion." in that creepy new york gangster tough guy tone. and "infestation." and "go back to where you came from."

that dude actually stood in front of putin and said how strong he was in his denials. said "i dont see any reason why it would be (him)"...comes home...waits a day, then says oh yeah i misspoke. should have been "wouldn't be". same thing with cummings robbery. "too bad!" tried to claim he was really sympathetic. "not trying to be a wise guy" someone needs to drop some f bombs on that weasel.

I get that beta O’Rourke sees his preseditial run slipping between his fingers and is desperate to get himself some camera time, but blaming another human being for these depeciable acts done by another person is disgusting. I get that for some voters the worse things you say about trump the better you are, but there is a line that has been crossed.
