I’m not pro eviction. Just like you’re not pro child rapist when you accept this recent decision

Quote:
The Supreme Court ruled Thursday that about half of the land in Oklahoma is within a Native American reservation, a decision that will have major consequences for both past and future criminal and civil cases.
Im sure some of you know that case let a child rapist free.

The Supreme Court ruled the moratorium would end without a new law. The administration is blatantly defying that order.

Trolly if you, a middle aged dude on the internet, knew the moratorium could legally be extended why didn’t the lawyers at the CDC figure it out until yesterday. After nearly two months of saying it could not be done.

My neighbors and I send proxies to Washington to make economic policy on our behalf. The president’s scientists only get to do that in extraordinary circumstances. Political Emergencies don’t last 15 months here this isn’t Myanmar.

The court spoke and that used to be final. But we like the president and we like the policy so we don’t care.

Because the Biden admin is largely sympathetic toward landlords. They got pressured from people like Cori Bush and others on the left.

We’re going back to the office, kids are going back to school, we’re going to restaurants and concerts. We just got back from vacation. The emergency is over.

Exactly dude! Got pressured into open defiance of the Supreme Court. That’s a bad thing that has happened. Towards a good end.

Sounds like you’ll be fine, then. Amazon is probably hiring?

And from a political angle they attack has been from the jump ‘Biden is senile the radical left is running the show’. And that was bullshit. Now?

And so will people who get evicted! Because that’s how our politicians have designed our housing system for what 200 years. If we want a right to housing in this country again call your senators. The CDC does not make housing policy.

Imagine the house republicans as a group. The caliber of those people and the things they say. Then imagine losing to them in a ****ing landslide. If I’m still checking in here next November we’ll talk about the ‘pressure from the left’.

This is some solid advice for the people who have been living rent free for the past 18 months while simultaneously collecting $1000/week in unemployment benefits.

What have they been doing all this time?

Almost all have been paying rent that’s what, being responsible. 4.7 million at risk of eviction out of

Sounds like the renter class is already doing a pretty good job contacting its representatives? I know actually doing stuff isn’t in your job description but maybe you guys should start organizing and stuff?

I’ll find the quotes from admin officials going into Saturday clearly saying ‘we cannot legally extend this ban’. That’s what makes it so clear to me-Biden people obviously knew going into Saturday they had no legal options.
The SCOTUS has overruled its own decisions on more than 300 occasions. In many instances, those decisions were the result of legislatures passing statutes that arguably or indisputably were in direct contravention of existing Supreme Court jurisprudence.

On a great many occasions, state legislatures in anti-abortion states have passed statutes restricting abortion that are not remotely consistent with existing SCOTUS precedent on abortion. Those state legislatures know that the statutes are unconstitutional under existing SCOTUS precedent but they are trying to set up a test case to get the precedent changed.

In most instances, those laws are simply struck by lower courts and the SCOTUS denies cert.

Yea man I’m on board with that, the people making laws. This is fiat by the CDC Rocco isn’t that different.

Trolly lol at calling me ‘you people’. And no Congress did not do their job and pass a law, on an individual basis they successfully agitated for illegality.

Trolly are you for or against the decision ruling Oklahoma as sovereign Native territory. Keep in mind that if you support this SC decision you will, by your logic against me being pro eviction, support child rape.

The Supreme Court ended the moratorium on July 31st because the CDC has overstepped its authority.

The Supreme Court threw out the conviction of a child rapist because Oklahoma law does not apply to sovereign Native territory, half of Oklahoma.

You can be for Natives and against child rape. You can be for following Supreme Court rulings and against a mass eviction.

You can also be a useless troll for 15 years. It’s a free country. It’s not ruled by the CDC.

I don't get all this hate towards landlords. They provide a service. You don't like the service they provide, don't use it. Don't use it and then complain that they want to be paid.

Do you guys turn up at a car wash and start ranting at the attendant, "10 bucks?! I could buy my own car shampoo and wash it myself for a buck fifty!"
