I’m 6 ft tall with boots on so I don’t experience much height discrimination, but I don’t think this is the same for everyone.

What do people think?

I think the question needs another question:
- Bro, have you ever been laid, that is, like, taking a vagina to the penis?

The answer to this will inform the remainder of the answers ITT.

Obviously the answer is yes, just like there is systemic bias against fat women.

Why is this question being posed in the politics forum?

My guess is that it is in response to the rumor that Desantis has been wearing lifts in his footwear. Search Desantis + boots + lifts.

In the last 100 years or so I think the taller presidential candidate has won except for maybe Romney being slightly taller than Obama.

I am grunching this thread, but the correct answer is humans generally have a systemic bias against short men. Same as with morbidly obese women. There are clear evolutionary reasons for this, but I wont bother.

If you went back to when you were 18 and lived the next 15 years as 6'4" I suspect you would realize you faced much more discrimination (or lack of positive discrimination) than you currently realize.

I hit my head on **** at least once a day. The vanity mirror in my hotel room this past weekend didn't even come up to my chin. The most important part of choosing a new vehicle is, "Does the dash dig into my knee when I have my legs at an otherwise comfortable angle?" As I age, the frequency of the phrase, "Jesus Christ, why is the ground so far away?" coming out of my mouth has increased significantly, followed by exaggerated grunts and groans when I get back up from grabbing stuff from the back of a lower cabinet, feeding cords through furniture, getting something that rolled under a dresser, etc.

Count your blessings, shorty.

Well, not actually once a day. But it's no joke and I've been on the losing end of an encounter with a door frame or exposed and sagging pipes/conduit more times than I care to admit.

When you stand up on a bus or an airplane, you have to crank your neck to damn near a 90 degree angle, too. Very uncomfortable.

I was married long long before Tinder existed, so I've gained nothing from the glorification of giants in modern dating, either.

All for what? Not having to bust out a chair or stool to get something off a high shelf? Dying early because of all that extra real estate for the cancer cells to operate out of? Not worth it.

It depends what is meant by discrimination.

Being tall is going to make a man more attractive in the eyes of most women and being short unattractive. I don't think that is discrimination, just a fortunate/unfortunate fact of life depending on which side you end up on.

Tall men tend to be overrepresented in leadership roles and short men underrepresented. I do think that is discrimination.

I think it was a jocular way of him saying he's less than six feet tall.
