So far a relatively tiny number of people have had it. Yesterday morning I went to HomeDepot w/o really thinking and there were more people there than I'd ever seen in my life. Didn't even go in because I could see lines ~25 deep(a bunch of pairs) at the garden cash registers and at least that many more milling around in that area. Parking lot completely slammed full. I'll be surprised if the numbers don't explode in a couple weeks--but I guess we'll see.

I'm surprised they are allowing that. My Home Depot is controlling how many people are in the store. There have been some pretty long lines out front so there have been a few times I didn't bother to wait to get in.

The stay at home expired here(md) Friday @5. People out and about had been creeping upwards the last couple weeks. Yesterday was like the floodgates opened. Some places have spaced lines outside(mostly grocery stores). But overall it's kind of a mixed bag on that front. If things continue like what I saw yesterday I don't know seems like a bad idea.

Drove past a bunch of restaurants today with "WERE OPEN FOR DINE IN SERVICE!" banners.

Who the **** thinks it's a good idea to eat in a restaurant right now. Especially since a guy confirmed to have COVID 19 went to a mothers day church service and came into contact with roughly 200 people within 45 minutes of here.

All good, pass the fajitas and have the waitress lean in close so you can tell her about Uncle Jimmy's birthday.

Mission Accomplished!

Beats waiting at home to die. May as well have some fun while you're doing it.

Hey, Mr. Wookie, what's the red state versus blue state death toll right now?

Weren't you predicting more deaths in red states some time back?

Yeah, she's quite the fervent zealot of a totally unreasonable and objectively ridiculous world view.

Oh wait, no, that's you.

Well, I'm sold. Sounds proved to me.

Breaking news from the world of science: experts have yet to ascertain which way round the causality between being a Trump supporter and being an insufferable ignoramus works, but they are reporting a 5 sigma corrrelation.

The average number of daily cases has decreased from 28.86 to 25.93 over the past two weeks.

Georgia opened. The sky did not fall. Hospital system is not overwhelmed.

Not opening the states at this point, means that they have shifted the ball from flattening the curve to protect the health care system to vaccination.

Stated goal of flattening the curve, mission accomplished.

I have no idea where you're getting your numbers from but the average number of daily cases in Georgia hasn't been below 100 since mid March.

Besides, even if the number of daily has gone down in the last two weeks that says nothing about the consequences of opening anyway because case data lags a long way behind the actual spread of the disease. This means that when looking at the data from today what you're really seeing is a snapshot of the state of the outbreak two weeks ago.

Edit: I think you might be quoting daily death numbers as case numbers. The point in the second paragraph still applies though.
