Yeah, remember when we were worried terrorist?
It’s a drive-thru what’s happening this red hot minute world that matters these days.
The devastation that happened in Lake Charles LA (3 wks ago)is a distant memory to all except those that live there. Are the protests and riots still going on?

Re: Covid-19 lockdowns and reopenings (formerly: Brian Kemp 2024)

Trump brags about the shutdown of China and Europe and Bill Gates was on Fox this morning and said the shutdowns were actually the cause of the USA's high cases. As it was not a total lockdown everyone scrambled to get back and once they did the USA had nothing in place for quarantines thus spreading the virus
He figures Vaccine by May 2021 is realistic and maybe things starting getting back to normal late 2021

The Toll Since Coronavirus Struck: 266,000 More Deaths Than Normal

The official coronavirus death toll has passed 200,000, but an accounting of all lives that were lost in the United States since mid-March shows that the pandemic and its resulting disruption have caused substantially more deaths: at least 266,000 more people have died than would in a normal year,...

Does that adjust for reduced deaths from traffic fatalities, etc. due to lockdowns? If not, the number is probably even higher still.

Good point. I have not dived into the underlying data.

This could go in any thread in this forum - obviously COVID-related, lots of CONSERVATIVE PRINCIPLES here, a healthy dose of racism, and we all know which presidential candidate these people are voting for:

Re: Covid-19 lockdowns and reopenings (formerly: Brian Kemp 2024)

Dip**** DeSantis is letting 'er rip down here in the upside down state of Florida. This should create a tsunami of deaths right when the bulk of votes are being cast here.

DeSantis lifts statewide restrictions on bars and restaurants as Florida moves to phase 3

Quote:
Gov. Ron DeSantis on Friday lifted all remaining coronavirus-related state restrictions on businesses such as bars and restaurants through an executive order that also suspends all fines and fees tied to social distancing enforcement.

The governor said Friday he would sign an executive order, which would take effect immediately, that will preempt local rules enforcing restaurant closures and will require municipalities to justify restrictions that donít allow restaurants to operate at a minimum 50% capacity.

Europe doing bad?

No answer to this horrible plague?

Let suicide rates, unemployment and familes killing each other, with lock downs?

OOPS. Was always going to suck for everyone.

To braindead conservatives who get their COVID news from Donald Trump rallies, yes, Europe is doing very badly right now, worse than USA, it's awful. USA#1!

You should see Canada compared to the USA#1. We simply cannot compete. Even with cases going up some due to weather and school returning we still only have a 7 day rolling average of 6 or 7 deaths per day. USA has us crushed with their 700-800. Even the new cases per capita is several times higher in the USA#1, so yeah nothing that Trump could have done differently, because then he might be communist like Canada or something.

If you go to one of his death rallies let us know, and be sure to wear a hat and lots of bling. Avoid the naval get-togethers, as Trumpers do not fare well in those.

All the best.
