It's almost like those counties have more people, and that the governors are in charge.

The last several pages of this thread have been devoted to arguing people are catching Covid due to personal choice of not taking the disease seriously for political reasons (and celebrating people dying for their political choices).

So now instead of personal choice, governors are really what matters?

Talk about a goal post shift.

Kel, you never answered my post in the other thread. Do you think you might be slightly dyslexic?

Jesus dude. Did you miss what side of that discussion I was on? Furthermore, that discussion is completely unrelated and your assertion that it's democrats is just a classic fail:

Lol yes. The most populated counties in Texas and Florida have the most covid cases. If you were looking at which counties had the most people with prime social security numbers you'd find the exact same thing.

If you broke down county by county of the USA and just looked at the political breakdown, if you were trying to construct any data driven political thesis of Covid, it would be that it is a Democratic disease.

Demographic breakdown of Covid sufferers would corroborate the same thesis.

I am not Smudger. I definitely think Trump and right wing have extremely horrible political messaging, and it is definitely costing lives. But the political narrative that the media (and this thread) is pumping out just doesn't match the data; unless you take a giant deductive leap that overwhelmingly Democratic voters are taking their marching orders from President Trump, Fox News and right wing governors, which doesn't seem plausible at all.
that has been explained.

POC tend to be overly represented to a massive degree within the front line workers bracket. Whether that be in health care or the food industry or the food processing plants or working in nursing homes.

They also tend to be disproportionately poorer with less health care access
and use public transit more.

So while wealthier people with discretion stay home and shelter in place these people keep going to work to indoor spaces where social distancing is not possible.

And I don't think these facts escape Trump and his team. Normally I wouild not want to suggest seriously as anyone would be so callous about deaths that they would see it as a benefit but i think Trump and team see this as a no lose situation.

They look at it as :

- the economy opening up again is a win
- IF covid does not spread badly again, win
- IF Covid does spread again badly it will disproportionately kill off POC who typically vote against me, win
- IF Covid is raging around election time and Covid is disproportionately raving POC they may vote in lower percentages, win

Trump is a guy who believes every single vote counts. He would do anything for one more vote. And a vote by subtraction is as good or better than a vote by addition.

These counties all have a proportionally much higher % of cases/deaths than their populations would predict.

I didn't even realize that was something everyone didn't know. Sometimes I really forget how disconnected from reality most people are because of media narrative bias.

As just one example, Dade County is 10% population of Florida and ~25% cases/deaths. Do you expect Dade also has 25% of people with prime social security numbers?

Ok, I am not sure how accurate this argument is, but it at least maps reality much better than the last 5 pages of posts of this thread. Covid is being spread by re-opening and people going out into the world, with some people being put more at risk by this than others.

Some small % of people are probably getting sick and dying for political choice reasons, but statistics don't support a thesis this is the main story of what is going on.

Weren't you just in here talking about how Canada's tremendously low population density (lol) is why they're so much better off? And yeah, Cupee's post is correct. It's also pretty ****ing dishonest to blame Democratic mayors when their orders for lockdowns, masks, etc. are being explicitly nullified by Republican governors.

Some democratic politicians have made bad choices, especially early in the disease, but I am not arguing democratic counties getting hit hard is because of their leadership.

I am arguing the political narrative going on in this thread that Covid is sweeping through Trumpland because trumpkin’s bad politics (and therefore we shouldn’t feel sorry for people dying) just doesn’t seem to map reality very well.

I am not that familiar with the etiology of dyslexia. What symptoms would I be looking for to determine likelihood of being a tad dyslexic?

Writing "hand waive" 3 times - two of them in the space of about half an hour, the second after being corrected and acknowledging it, and the third a week or so later is a pretty massive tell.

I've also corrected you on something before (ferment/foment), you acknowledged it, and made the same mistake literally half an hour later.

I'm not even trolling at this point, I'm just curious. You obviously acknowledge the corrections, but you keep making the same mistakes.

Then you are being deliberately disingenuous. Covid-19 is sweeping through states (also LA county and Las Vegas, which were both really stupid but not for Trumpkins) where Trumpkin governors took actions that directly led to outbreaks, and they tend to have the highest authority in their states when it comes to masks, lockdowns, and other countermeasures, even overriding mayors who wanted more restrictions. That these are concentrated in cities with high population, high population density, and a high population of poorer people is completely unsurprising. Tulsa is getting ravaged now too, but it is unsurprising that you didn't include a city that didn't fit your narrative.

Donald Trump won the top 4 counties in cases per 100k in Florida. The problem with you isn't the fact that you don't know a lot, it's that you know so much that just isn't so.

Kelhaus is really, really bad though. I think I would rather teach math or physics to Smudger than Kelhaus. At least Smudger won't run off to crackpots and actively undo any progress I make.

I guess I can ask him why Tulsa county (population about 600,000 which includes the city and rural areas) compared to a more population dense Canadian city of the same population size (which is also located close to a 5 million population city) has about 30-40 times the number of daily cases, but he already explained it was because of New Jersey.

You obviously have a lot more faith in Smudger than I do.

I smell a prop bet. How about 10k and you have Smudger for a month, then I give him a maths test that comprises only basic algebra, exponentials, and derivatives? Quote to book

ETA: no complex numbers. Just standard stuff we all should have learnt in high school.

ETA: Would def never offer the same terms with Kel.

lol at the end, is she talking to her audience?

"Listen - if anybody else asks about Robin having COVID-19, you're gonna be not in the group anymore. I've already clearly stated what was wrong with Robin. Robin would not be in this park if she had COVID-19."

That's...uhh...wow
