I know. It's just that belief in reincarnation is a sufficient (although not necessary) attribute to cause someone to think that certain DNA is not required for youness. I invoked people with that belief because it was a succinct reply to Melkerson.

That's great but you didn't answer the question.

Once again, have you met anyone who has actually said yes to that question?

Seems like how you and others would answer this question has become relevant nowadays. Would more religious people than atheists answer "yes"? Would more Republicans than Democrats?
Is the thinking that the bolded makes this a Politics thread?

Was thinking of starting a new thread here - "Do you like books? Seems like how you and others would answer this question has become relevant nowadays. Would more religious people than atheists answer "yes"? Would more Republicans than Democrats?"

Lol. I was thinking of moving it to another forum but figured it would drop off the main page here quickly enough.

I don't have an answer to the question, but the topic did force me down the rabbit hole to the "How is babby formed" threads, which made me laugh.

Expecting most people to see what I was getting at, my follow up post would be about the fact that the people who argue about abortion are both on the opposite sides of what might be expected. Because if God can put a particular "soul" inside of any fetus, it's no big deal if one is discarded before it even knew it exists. But if every precise sperm egg combination is correlated with a specific human consciousness than such a destruction of that impending consciousness is almost homicide.
I don't understand.

I'm not an expert in biology so I don't know but I would assume no.
