Yeah, those 5 cops should have gone medieval on the group of 200-300 or so instead. What could go wrong with that plan?

There will be a lot of security questions that need to be answered, but what exactly would you have expected those 5 cops to do there? Do you seriously think they were genuinely cheering on the mob?

Perhaps Trump will resign as part of a deal that he gets pardoned by Pence, otherwise I hope the 25th option is explored.

Agree completely, but I think the last sentence eliminates the possibility. Impeachment could never happen in time to do anything, and the 25th requires too much participation by people who would be unlikely go along with it IMO. And there's a chance it just makes things worse WRT protestors.

Less than 2 weeks left. Get through the legal process, let the mobs have their tantrums while ensuring they can no longer cause mayhem, and move on. Decide what to do with Trump after it's all over.

Seems most are happy to yell and take pictures of the police. Guessing it will be that type of stalemate for a while, but the crowd of people aint going anywhere past the cops any more.

President on tape extorting an elected official to change certified election results, then a couple days later on tape inciting right-wing terrorists to storm the Capitol. This guy should not be President for another hour or day.
