Republicans aren't capable of being better than this. This is who they've been at least since the Tea Party days, and probably back to the Gingrich era (and maybe farther but I wasn't exactly around then). This is their final form that's been developing for years, and they've intentionally cultivated a base that now demands this behavior of them. They can't just unopen that box.

It's being tolerated, though. Did you not see the police tolerating it? Do you not see that Congress will do nothing to Trump during his last two weeks or to the members who support the terrorists? Yes, I understand it's been tolerated. Not just tolerated, but in many cases, encouraged.
