Probably not.

If they took out a tracker when rates were 3% they’ve been quids in for a long time, and if they rise a lot it’s pay back time.

If they mortgaged themselves to the hilt at historically low rates without begin able to cover it if rates hit their historic average they’ve been caught being greedy. I’d like to think most people aren’t that stupid, but hey.

Very good, it turns out. Kind of in the tradition of series like The Death of Yugoslavia. The archive montage is excellent (good grief, those awful six-button double-breasted estate-agent suits -- I'd forgotten all about those) and they've captured all the right present-day interviews. (Neil's looking an awful lot older than when I saw him last, which wasn't that long ago. Still, comes to us all.) They've also hit on the essential uselessness of John Smith, which is not generally recognised because people liked him, and the essential vanity of Gordon Brown. The charismatic, unknowable and slightly uncanny Blair is there, but may come out more in later episodes.

Oh they are. Rather, most people are blind to the risks, ignorant of history and of the cyclical nature of the economic fundamentals.

This is incredibly naive. This is a fully devolved issue and, of course, local politicians are going to blame Westminster - it's a get out of jail free card for them.

I see bojo is off on holiday again.

His thinly veiled contempt for those brexit voters who actually want to see him make a success of this brexit ordeal is striking.

COVID response report makes uncomfortable reading for those who were making difficult decisions 18 months ago. Some benefits of hindsight, and it’s always easier to say what you would have done, than to actually have to do it.
As is ever the case there will be calls for resignations made by those whose own decision making capabilities are untested or dubious at best. Most will ignore the quality of the vaccine research and roll out, and will ignore the fact that Sweden’s anti-lockdown stance produced a lower deaths/million than ours.

Its not correct to compare Sweden to UK due to different inflows of virus and variants, much better to compare it to other Scandinavian countries such as Norway, Denmark and Finland.

Relative to those countries, Sweden does very badly.

Even if you combine the cumulative DPM of those three countries it is still significantly less than Sweden's. 816 v 1467

It has also suffered more economic damage than those countries.

The rest of your post is the standard excuse making, hindsight claim has zero credibility because there was plenty of reasoned opinion expressing the need for other choices at the time super duper obvious mistakes were made.

Christ, he's absolutely ****ing awful. I wouldn't put him in charge of a jumble sale, let alone one of only two parties in the UK that are in a position to win an election.

A tweet very clearly exposing some of the hypocrisy of the Scottish Greens. Quite a turnaround given both clips are this year. One prior to the election and one post election now that they have been given ministerial roles

This story about David Amess getting stabbed is terrible. He's being operated on at the scene, which doesn't seem to bode well.

Been criticism for a while about the Scottish Government doing all it can to score highly on Stonewall's Workplace Equality Index. It's impact on policy is incredible and here's the latest example:

This was discovered after someone submitted a FOI. In every single case it seems to be women, rather than men, who are being marginalised here.

Likely a huge mistake to think it's mostly because educated people understand the issues better.

Ironically, it's the normality of that type of mistake by the educated that is probably a much bigger cause of the difference in voting outcome.
