This is still the big problem for the remain side who have still made little headway into arguing the case to the public of why we want to part of the EU. Instead we have had decades of unanswered skepticism. Whatever the figure is, it's lot of money to belong to something they don't really feel they want to be part of.
It relates to that Junker article I posted (that you didn't care for because he said Europe sometimes) where he says that British politicians never talk of anything but economics when it comes to wanting to be part of the EU.
How the court case will play out politically is interesting. Can't be good for boris to be entangled in it but re brexit it keeps the fact of a big figure in the
headlines. If boris wins* then it will be 'proof' that the claim was fair even though in reality it wont mean that at all
* i've no idea how the timing of the case will coincide with any 2nd referendum so it might matter a lot or not at all.
