I read the GOP might have the votes to impeach Biden. That’s great and all, but what for? Personally I think Biden and the DNC cheated Bernie out of two elections so I am happy to see him go to jail , but will the GOP make up charges that won’t stick?

Well they will have the same problem the democrats had they may have the votes in their party but not enough votes to actually impeach .

Politically it’s a stupid move as well .

I think you mean they don't have the votes in the Senate to convict.

for me this always brings to mind the idea of the president, if convicted, being entombed inside a very large peach

I missed as well that this is just a vote for an inquiry not the actual impeachment but yes no way you win a vote in the senate

Kinda funny that their made up reason for impeaching Biden is that he used his office for personal gain even though there is no reason to think that actually happened. But when Trump admitted to using his power as president to extort a personal favor from Zelensky guys like Mike Johnson said that was fine and not even inpeachable.

Impeachment, to bring to trial...
It has no real consequence unless removal or censure follows...

then guillotine, like the start of Napoleon with the snarling mob. Interesting how it's the same experience on repeat for the human race, just with different technology in gradations . the constant is the heart

the GOP’s own witnesses keep saying the opposite of what the party wants to hear

their own witnesses said they didn’t see sufficient evidence to impeach the Democratic president

an examination of some of the highest-profile examples cited
by Republicans shows that they have been taken out of context,
or that Republicans have omitted key messages in email or text
chains that often cast the communications in a more innocuous light

congressional Republicans deliberately tried to mislead the
public in their zeal to tear down the president without cause

anti-Biden partisans who continue to insist that the impeachment inquiry
is turning up incriminating information appear to be kidding themselves

Why the **** is Joe not trying to raise the minimum wage? If he doesn't campaign on that, they can impeach him all they want, the worthless bum.

The last President to raise the minimum wage was George W. Bush. What in the absolute ****???

He's done almost none of the "vote him in and then work on moving him to the left!" stuff that Democratic partisans promised could be a real thing that could really happen. Withdrawing from Afghanistan, his greatest accomplishment, is a notable exception. But, yeah, he's a right-wing, drug-war Democrat that gave the eulogy to Strom Goddamn Thurmond at his funeral.

His support for Ukraine is literally the only thing making him worth a damn imo. The student loan **** is a nice idea but I have'nt benefited at all, so screw Biden, he's as worthless as Obama was. I'm not voting unless there's a compelling state question on the ballot, but I'm in Oklahoma and our electoral votes haven't gone dem since like 1964 so there's really no point.

I have deleted a bunch of posts that have nothing to do with Biden. This subforum is not the right place to discuss Lirva's personal life or problems. If you want to discuss that stuff, do it in House of Blogs or anywhere but here.

Biden can't raise the minimum wage without support from the House Republicans and for that matter Senate Republicans (they would need 60 Senators to pass a bill).

But what is happening is that 22 States have raised their minimum wages as of today.

Also, as of Covid, wages have gone up faster than ever before for low paid workers throughout the country (not just blue states)

And somehow inflation in the US has been lower than any other industrial nation since covid started.

interview with Georges Bergès, who owns an art gallery that exhibited Hunter Biden’s work

The gallery owner did not target Democratic donors to sell Hunter Biden’s paintings.

“Just like every other witness in this embarrassing slapstick investigation,
George Bergès stated he had no evidence of wrongdoing by President Biden,”

“Hunter Biden made art that Bergès sold in his gallery,
and President Biden had no knowledge of, or role in, these art sales.”

The GOP’s allegations of influence peddling and money laundering
are unfounded and were, once again, totally refuted by today’s witness.

Originally when Hunter was going to sell his art they said no one will know the buyers names including Hunter than the story changed and of course Hunter will knew who bought his art.
Though we will not release the names of the individuals whom bought the art

So Hunter knows who bought his art for ridiculous amounts and of course Hunter tells dad

Its like some democrat rich donor paying off Hunter's tax bill It all stinks but its not illegal

Republicans know it won't be successful, but they must think it's useful anyway. Perhaps they think it will hurt him in the upcoming election- after all, it doesn't matter if you're convicted. You're still one of the only presidents to be impeached, and placed inside a giant peach.

Yeah I know, it's tit for tat, since the Democrats impeached 'our guy.' I'm just hoping there is something more than that, some sort of strategic value. I don't see that though, it just looks like another blunder.

There isn't. Republicans can't even produce expert witnesses that say Biden should be impeached. It's not even really tit for tat, there is no real disagreement that presidents should be removed from office if they conduct secret campaigns to get foreign governments to announce investigations into political opponents and allow that secret campaign to influence US foreign policy.

Archer said under oath that Joe Biden wasn’t involved with Burisma,
didn’t talk business with his son’s associates, and didn’t take bribes.

James Comer painted a very different picture. In fact, the Kentucky Republican peddled
a variety of highly provocative claims about Archer’s testimony — including during appearances
on national television — leading the public to believe the witness advanced the case against the president.

When the official transcript came to public light, reality showed the opposite of what Comer had claimed.

Not two hours after we left Mr. Morris’ transcribed interview, you issued a press statement
with cherry‐picked, out of context and totally misleading descriptions of what Mr. Morris said.

Over and over and over and over and over,
committee Chairman James Comer has made debunked
and unsubstantiated public statements that cast the president
and/or his son as dishonest or has rushed to release unsubstantiated
claims or information that similarly collapse under scrutiny.

Fox quiet after indictment of GOP 'informant' blows up impeachment case.

Never admit defeat.... Never admit you're wrong... Never take responsibility
for anything. If you can follow these 3 simple rules, you too can be a republican.
