This person has to win the republican primary which means he or she does well enough with a white audience or causes such a generational shift to makeup of the parties that it's difficult to discuss as a purely hypothetical.
If I had to guess, I would say that Colin Powell in 2000 could have beat Bush for the nomination, based on experience, reputation and intelligence then could have steam rolled Gore with possibly 1/3 or higher of the black vote in the general. I don't think anybody exists that could do something similar in 2024; Powell himself has endorsed the democrat in the last 4 presidential elections.
