Lol, you have not made any point. It's already been pointed out to you multiple times that blue states have more refugees than red states. When they're shipped by red states blue states don't turn them around, they attempt to help them.

Which means this theory is complete nonsense and a smokescreen for the real issue, which is that red state Christians are Christian in name only and in reality are just hate filled, gaslighting, virtue signalers.

Listen to me closely so you can actually understand this time. Nobody is arguing that places like California already has the most illegals and migrants than anyone. Literally nobody. What I’m saying is California (or any blue state for that matter) is not giving Texas and Florida an invitation saying “please send them here so we can house them, feed them, give them work, and put them in infinite welfare”. Democrats are the ones who want every breathing migrant in this country……just don’t put them in our states. Now do you understand the basic English language?

As for your second paragraph, anyone reading your posts can agree that you’re pretty hateful yourself. So don’t point the hate finger at others, buddy.

You really don't see the contradiction between these statements?

Not at all clear that is true, and you are delusional if you think that politicians are making decisions with a 10, 20, or 30 year time horizon in mind.

Among the more painful things about this vapid, level-one "gotcha" is your honest belief that there's some salient point to be had by making it over and over again.

The #1 thing that attracts immigrants are pre-existing immigrant communities. It’s a feedback loop that’s the reason NYC and California are economic powerhouses. Texas also has immigrant communities but Republicans there are doing their absolute best to shoot themselves in the foot by being inhospitable to Latinos.

This is too facile. The net economic effect of immigration generally, and undocumented immigrants specifically, is very complicated. I have a lot of tolerance for people who want to have good faith discussions about the rate at which the U.S. can absorb immigrants.

I have zero tolerance for people who talk about immigrants or propose to treat immigrants, undocumented or otherwise, in a demeaning or hateful way. If I thought that I needed to cross a border to better the lives of my family, I'm sure that I would do it.

This is certainly a big factor in where they choose to settle.

It was late and finally got around to answering this one.

The current number for this year is 1.94 million. I do know you struggle with math but we have over 3 months left and the number will easily surpass 2 million and will probably hit close to 2.3 million ( Ill help you take out your calculator and take 1.94 million and divide by 9 that will give you a monthly average of over 200,000 each month. Now there are 3 months left in the year so based on that we could hit 2.5 million )

As well 750 individuals have died attempting to cross the southern border according to the DHS . Oh I forgot your limited knowledge. That is the Department of Homeland Security

Sadly no one at CNN, MSNBC care about those numbers as it doesn't fit their narrative.

Was Desantis move a political stunt of course it was . Did he trick folks on getting onto those planes I have yet to see a video interview of a migrant stating that. Maybe someone has one to share.

If he did that is wrong. The positive is the community came together and helped those on the plane

Though he sure put the focus on illegal immigrants

Bullshit.

"Every community in America should be sharing in the burdens. It shouldn't all fall on a handful of red states." -Desantis

He's very obviously trying to make it seems that red states are shouldering the majority of the burden.

Blue states aren't saying this or acting in this way, obviously, since they take more immigrants than red states. What they are saying is don't use desperate human beings as pawns to appeal to your xenophobic base.

I can imagine that if you're a member of this group that you don't view yourself this way and so you see my description as a hateful lie. I think my description is accurate and just matter of fact. I don't hate these people, I pity them for being born into the circumstances that created them.

This has already been reported widely.

"NPR was able to interview three of the migrants late Wednesday. "They (the migrants) told us they had recently crossed the border in Texas and were staying at a shelter in San Antonio," NPR's Joel Rose said on Morning Edition.

The migrants said a woman they identified as "Perla" approached them outside the shelter and lured them into boarding the plane, saying they would be flown to Boston where they could get expedited work papers. She provided them with food. The migrants said Perla was still trying to recruit more passengers just hours before their flight."

California isn't really a border crossing state. People aren't coming up and crossing the border in great numbers through Baja. So it seems a bit unfair to compare it to states like Texas or Arizona. Comparing it to Florida probably is fair.

*Or actually Florida doesn't get any and California's crossings aren't nothing now that I'm looking at the data. But it's still dwarfed by Texas and Arizona.

You cannot in good faith complain about people dying trying to sneak across the border and also be against opening the borders.

There are likely multiple ways to do this in good faith.

You could argue that the problem is that getting across the border is too easy which then incentivizes people to attempt crossing it, and that the solution is simply to make it difficult/impossible to cross it.

Kind of a ludicrous argument when desperate people are paying thousands of dollars to extremely shady human traffickers to get in.

And I'm not sure that the reason why people pay traffickers is because it's too difficult for them to figure out for themselves.

Not much point in following your logic when your premises are completely wrong.

Just to be clear though, as a leftist you definitely are in favor of opening the borders, right? All the DeSantis apologetics you’ve been engaging in is just an exercise, right?
