If she were running in a heads up match contest against Trump, I might agree with you, because I suspect that establishment Republican voters have a lot of Trump fatigue. But she isn't.
DeSantis has been pretty successful at positioning himself as the midpoint between establishment Republicans like Haley and derpy populists like Trump. On the hoof, DeSantis looks a lot like an establishment Republican from twenty years ago. He's a white guy who went to Harvard. He stays on script. He doesn't freelance on social media. He doesn't resort to petty insults. He doesn't get into idiotic personal feuds. He's the governor of an important state.
But his anti-woke, culture war platform is pure derp, a blatant appeal to the subset of GOP voters who immediately orgasm whenever Trump rants about culture stuff.
I'm no DeSantis fan, but that's why I think he will win the nomination.
