old people have seen loads of their friends deteriorate, often in a matter of a few short months and in devastating fashion. they know better than anyone how someone that age can fall apart in a matter of no time. my 92 year old granddad laughs at the idea of 85 year old biden being president (in between the 19 hours a day in which he is sleeping or napping), because he knows how preposterous that is

my personal view, which could be wrong, is that people vote on feel and optics rather than policy, and having a young (relatively speaking) sharp looking fella out there who can land a quip on trump and throw a decent first pitch prior to game 1 of the world series means a lot more than policy positions
