... since no one else has gotten around to starting a thread. I'd like to say that the title bout is subject to change but that's probably too optimistic.

I know that is a Rumble in the Jungle Poster, but come on. Kinsasha, Zaire? No way is Trump going to a "****hole" country.

Biden is still pepsi. Trump is still Mt. Dew. Coke was defeated in the 2016 GOP primaries.

It's pointless. John Roberts is going to decide the election.

Every state is going to sue how they handle voting in era of corona. Democrats will want increased mail and online voting, Republicans will want everyone at polls.

States will make decisions and the other party will sue in every state. Ultimately, Supreme Court will be divided on ideological lines and John Robert will be the swing vote.

How John Roberts goes, is unknown. Based on his defense of ACA, he probably just the votes lie as they may, but he may be compelled to side with Republicans.

Ironically, Zaire (formerly called Democratic Republic of the Congo) was a country whose first democratically elected leader was assassinated by the CIA.

This is a really interesting theory. And having a stolen/supreme court decided election would be a really good way to ratchet up the partisan tension even further.

I think there is a good chance there will be no election. Or, at least not as scheduled in November.

Mr. Trump might declare martial law and delay the election indefinitely.

2016 might have been our last ever Presidential election.

Having said that, I suspect this thread is not intended to be a platform for conspiracy theories, so guess I'll "leave it lay."

So America will be great again. Like when it was ruled by an English King ?

Winning.

Is this a realistic outcome?
Trump wins presidency
Democrats take the house & senate

Possible, but unlikely given how Senate map is.

If Republicans lose the Senate, they probably lose the Presidency, but certainly, all state races are local.

Yep. Notice how I used the word "was" in my post, not "is".

Plausible yes, but now that the pressers are back on it's likely that the Dems scoop.

Probably not the best choice of words, especially with a sexual assault allegation looming over his head and questions about his cognitive decline.

Yeah definitely a poor choice of words. He's old though, and I assumed that was an older-generation phrasing.

Quote:
“Vice President Biden has the opportunity, right now, to model how to take serious allegations seriously,” the draft letter said. “The weight of our expectations matches the magnitude of the office he seeks.”

Then Mr. Biden’s team heard about the advocates’ effort. According to people involved in the discussions, the group put the letter on hold as it began pressuring Biden advisers to push the candidate to make a statement himself before the end of April, which is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Along with liberal organizers, they urged him to acknowledge the importance of survivors and the need for systemic change around issues of sexism and assault.

Nearly two weeks later, Mr. Biden and his campaign have yet to make that statement, and the advocates have not released their letter. The Biden campaign has said little publicly beyond saying that women deserve to be heard and insisting that the allegation is not true; privately, Biden advisers have circulated talking points urging supporters to deny that the incident occurred.

As two more women have come forward to corroborate part of Ms. Reade’s allegation, the Biden campaign is facing attacks from the right and increasing pressure from the left to address the issue. And liberal activists find themselves in a tense standoff with a candidate they want to support but who they say has made little attempt to show leadership on an issue that resonates deeply with their party’s base.

“It’s difficult for survivors to see that a woman who has more corroborating sources than most survivors have in similar situations is being tossed aside and actively being weaponized by cynical political actors,” said Shaunna Thomas, a founder of UltraViolet, a women’s rights advocacy group that is involved in the effort to push the campaign. “It would be an incredible moment of leadership for Joe Biden to show up.”

Related, the comments from Biden supporters and never Trumpers are just as disgusting as the far left.

This is in response to the story Chris Hayes of MSNBC ran on Biden/Reade:

It goes both ways with the idiots. How the hell can anyone with a shred of dignity fault his show for running this segment? The problem, and I don't even think it's that big of a problem, isn't just going to go away. If I had to fault him, it would be for not mentioning the Larry King call-in.

This is probably the most in-depth article on the Reade situation I've seen. I bet we know who will believe it, and who will think it's politically motivated. Either way, I think the article does a good job of trying to back up all his theories, and he does have experience in the field. Perhaps he's too close to it, but I didn't get that idea from the article.

I've said before I don't watch much TV outside of sports, but I think I **** Chris Hayes a lot. Used to read his Nation work, he's a really good Twitter follow, and just generally really smart.

I am trying to remember the Cavanuagh incident.
Did she not take a polygraph but all they told us was she passed but would not reveal the contents of the test?
Did Ford have less evidence than Reade?
Did they not call for Cavanugh to take a polygraph as well?

I love the staffers comment. I do not remember?

Seems so Hypocritical.

If she takes a polygraph and passes what than?

All those democrat female senators "Every woman must be believed"
